I am not on gear, I lift 5-6 times a week, and lately, when doing bicep workouts, expecially preacher curls, I have been getting these killer pains that run from the back side of my wrist to about halfway down my arm. My hands also feel very sore right after any dumbell curl exercise, and during my shoulder exercises, my shoulder pops, and hurts. I don't won't to sound like a pussy, but all this stuff started about the same time. I am 20 years old, I stretch out pretty good, I know the difference between the burn, and wehn something is wrong. Thanks bros IP: Logged |

I have the same fukin problem! It hurts so bad. It feels as if your wrist is not strong enough for your biceps. For me it hurts more for barbell execerises than e-z bar or dumbel exercise. Don't know what it is but a guy told me yesterday to start curling with a very thick bar and it will strengthen the wrist a lot as well as your forearms. Its a very thick bar. If your gym has it use it.-----peace sweetness IP: Logged |

That is exactly what it feals like, biceps to strong for my hands, I think I really need to start training my forearms, it is the only thing I don't train, because it makes my biceps look bigger, hehe. later bro IP: Logged |

Same thing happened to me and I'm clean too, so far. Started about 6 monnths ago kind of subtly, then got worse and worse until I couldn't even pick up a full pop-can without feeling it. Stop doing preachers... in fact, stop doing all bicep exercises in which you use a grip where you have to turn your fore-arm radially so that the fist is facing you. Start doing dumbell curls in which you just use the grip that comes naturally when you hold a dumbell. This will take the weight off your inflamed tendon. You can also use pull-ups with your fists facing away from you. Remember absolutely no preachers, they're the worst for this. It should get better within 6-8 weeks. I stopped doing preachers 6 weeks ago and now I am much better, no more pain ever -- but I still can't do any preacher curls without a little pain. After the tendon is better, you can start doing exercises with the other grip again, just don't go so intense on them and try to not use ONLY those grips or else you will develop the problem again. Good luck ------------------ the alpha male IP: Logged |

This is not due to a weakness in your fore-arms. It is tendinitis, I promise. Another thing that will help is to loosen up your grip on the dumbell. Don't squeeze to hard. It can cause this also. Do you understand what I am saying about the radial turning of your hand? I mean for you to do curls with thumbs facing up. This will fix it. ------------------ the alpha male IP: Logged |

Use some Deca, like 100mg/wk and go easy on weights... Or keep years treating with ice and anti-inflams... ------------------ Take Care. IP: Logged |

I have had the same problem before. As far as the forearm pain, I changed to a wider grip on the straight barbell and it helped. It seemed like the foreamr was too tight or something. I think that your shoulders hurt because you are possibly overtraining and there is an imbalance in your shoulders. For example, because of you doing so much biceps you are also working you front deltoids and making them much stronger than your rear deltoids. I would throw in some rear deltoid work and not do so many bicep exercises. IP: Logged |

I had a similar problem with my wrist last year. It hurt so much I couldn't bench or curl or do much of anything. I got some wrist wraps and used them as braces and it eventually went away. I worked through the pain...you might have something like I did. ------------------ IP: Logged |
