I know I probably spelled it wrong but who know what about bankart repairs? I just got an MRI the other day and they told me that I tore my bankart repair! I refused surgery and opted for physical therapy (I've been doing physical therapy with ultrasound and decadron for about a month or so). Does anyone know if it's possible to avoid surgery or is this something that I must get done????? ------------------ IP: Logged |

'Bankart' is just the name of the procedure used to repair recurrent anterior dislocations of the shoulder. The method was invented by a man named Blundell Bankart in 1923. Not sure on if operation is totally necessary but a good doctor should be able to advise you what to do by examining your history, extent of injury etc.. Here's a site that will give you some info on the surgerical procedure itself: http://www.biolectron.com/bankart/bankart1.html Good Luck bro, rocky IP: Logged |
