as I was pulling in to the baseball field on my motorcycle yesterday, my players were running towards me on to the road pointing....I looked down to my right and there lay a young boy (15) laying under the guard rail...I was like, what the f___, did someone get in a fight here (?)...then I saw a motorcycle laying a bit further up under the guard rail, and I was like...oh shit!!!....so I looked over the scene to see exactly what was going on and there was a lady slumped over in her car right in front of me, so I pulled up to her and she looked up and was crying and I said u alright, she said yeah, so I got off my bike and I as I approached the young boy I figured he was OK cause he was laying with his head on his arm, as if he was just in bad pain, but then I noticed his head wide open and *matter* on the road and a chill came over my body....then my kids said theres another one over in the ditch....I was like, Oh NO...I didnt even want to go look, but I went down, and this kid, the driver, 15, no license, was lying amongst big rocks all mangled up, but alive and moaning....another coach ran down with one of the players and turned the kid over and held him...and I was gonna make sure someone was notified....the boys legs were shattered and twisted like a pretzel and he started screaming..I cant feel my nose.(?).it was horrible, seemed like it took forever for help to get there, but they life-flighted the boy and last I heard he's barely alive and very messed up, he doesnt even know his passanger is dead.....my boys witnessed the whole thing, the kids on the bike were waving at them as they passed the field doing around 100mph, and they didnt notice the car in front of them turning left off the road, they skidded a long way but couldnt slow down enough so they tried to get around the car to the left and they side swiped it and went right into the guardrail head on..... I still cant believe what happened and I hate writing about it on here, but its really changed my outlook on life as this still sinks in.... I've been going through that "post-anabolic depression" lately, but this has just changed my outlook on everything....losing 10-15lbs just seems so fucking petty to be worrying about.... I hope all you guys just sit back and be thankful for what u got, and once in a while realize how precious life is...I guess I've taken it for granted most of my life, but its different now... Again, sorry for posting something like this, but I needed to get if off my chest cause its all I've had on my mind since it happened yesterday......be careful all.... peace, IP: Logged |

Damn, that hit home. I drive my fathers Harley every chance I get. I will be wearing a helmet every time from now on. Yor right, sometimes we get so wrapped up in our bodies that we don't take the time to enjoy life. Well I'm gonna start rambling so I'll leave you with this. Great post (bad thing, but great post) You might of just saved my life. Thanks in advance. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear about your pain bro. I know where you're coming from though, my boss just died this morning. I'm on his computer now actually. As far as motorcycles go, peole will never learn to respect them. Don't get me wrong, I love them, and race them. They're just not for kids though. Hope you and your kids feel better soon. Although every accident is tragic, the ones that we are witness to are even more so. Not to get religious on all you guys, but if it helps, my prayers are with you and the loved ones of thos involved in that terrible accident. Rest assured, God has provided a BETTER place for that boy at his table and he wouldn't come back to this world for anything. In fact, he's probably playing with my son Joshua right now being dragged around by a lion's tail and laughing the whole way... IP: Logged |

Sorry Bro I've had to burry 35 faimly and friends over the last 4 years of my life. and being only 19 years old doesn't always give for the best out look on my future...Situations like this don't really hit hard till it's us thats dealing with it as it happens. Lucky for me after I burried one of my best friends my Sr. year in highschool and then I started my own little transformation as a always cut loose and hellraiser to the wiser person I am today. Take pride in the gifts of your life. Wether it be your faimly, your friends, work, or your developing body... Keep Pumping IP: Logged |

That's profound because it reminds me of a kid that I saw on a brand new (Yamaha R1) today cruising past a traffic jam on the freeway traffic in the emergency lane at around 80 plus MPH. I just thought, what if someone else decides to pull in front of this guy? No way he could have stopped. Thanks for story, now that it's summer where I live, I'll have to be more careful. Hell man, I already count my blessing! I had two motorcycle accidents (travelling at a slow rate of speed--25mph) and on vicious car accident on the I-15 (feel asleep at the wheel doing about 80mph, and t-boned under a semi). I guess I am grateful to be alive! later IP: Logged |

Man this is a horrifying story. We all take life very much for granted and all of us every now and then need to just thank god that we are alive and in good health. Life is very fragile and precious and we need to not worry about all the petty shit and just live it to the fullest. I have had a life changing experience in a car accident and it has been a very helpful on putting things in perspective for me. Just remember that we are all equal and treat others with the same respect you demand. IP: Logged |

I think that was a really good post. It kinda puts things back in perspective. I think we constantly need to be reminded how fragile everymoment is. I was throw out of the back of a pickup when i was 18 years old and so was my buddy next to me. I walked away from it and my budy crushed his back. Not amount of juice will repair him. Hope ya feel better, at least you know theres ears here 24 7 IP: Logged |

Thanks for sharing that horrible experience. Sometimes, we're faced with these situations to put things into perspective. It makes you think that just because you might have not done as well at the gym (as you wanted to do), well, this no longer is as important. I think you need to share these experiences with others....esp. those who have the same interests - like here, on this board! REALLY MAKES YOU THINK HOW IMPORTANT LIFE IS! ------------------ IP: Logged |

That was a good post bro and it just reminds us that life is too short. I have had a few instances in my life where I have had to look at life as just being thankful that I am alive and can walk. Looks are not everything and if they are then think about the fact that at least you don't have some disease like aids or are crippled and can't walk. It makes me think a lot and things like that always stay in my mind. I have found the best thing to do is talk about it and keep the ones you love close to you. IP: Logged |

Pain and agony is bad enough as it is but to witness it first hand is horrific. Sometimes the scars of the injured are healed easier than the emotional scars of the witnesses. You did the right thing by talking about it and not letting it consume you. Encourage your kids to do the same if they can. This incident should have an impact at how you look at life. If it didn't bother you, I'd be worried. Take care. Slim IP: Logged |

His burial was today, and as I talked it over with the other coaches we were saying how tough its gonna be playing home games there, cause the accident occured right at the entrance to the field and is in plain sight...they have alot of flowers and things of that nature there.....and worse, the parents have to drive past it to get to and from town as its the only road out that way. Its been all over the news in my area since it happened, found out the driver was on probation and he stole the bike from his dad that morning to take it to school and was bragging that he had it going 110mph....he's still alive.....
