Anyone with info on what chemicals can block DHT to prevent hairloss, is propecia the only one and is only through prescription? IP: Logged |

Propecia is such a rip off!! Propecia is Finasteride which is Proscar Proscar is used for prostate problems 5 alpha-reductase is the bad guy here this reductase converts test to DHT when drug companies figured out that finasteride also helped male pattern baldness they reduced the dosage and jacked up the price my advice is if you want to use finasteride buy Proscar(5mg) and use a razor to cut it into quarters and save yourself some $$$$ Proscar isn't controlled try looking for "smart drug" web sites they usually carry it IP: Logged |

proscar only helps with test- it is the only AS that is 5a reduced into a stronger metabolite- Deca is 5a reduced but to DHN a weaker metabolite. Propecia/proscar/finasteride is not a dht blocker but a 5a reductase inhibitor. use nizoral topically- shampoo ------------------ IP: Logged |

Macro, what about Formestane? I can't remember if this blocks at the receptor site, or if it's a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor. I realize this is an esoteric substance for most people, but I just wanted to throw this one out. IP: Logged |

formestane is an aromatase inhibitor- many claim that it permanantly down regulates aromatase production- but I have not seen any real research done with respect to this. I do not beleive that formestane inhibits 5a reductase- but I coud be wrong I am not entirely familiar with it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Proscar with juice = almost total dht inhibition = no gains because your bot needs the dht....just not in excessive amts ------------------ IP: Logged |

here we go again TEXFLEX DHT is itself is not an effective anabolic for muscle tissue. But any loss of gains certainlyis not proven, and if it exists, the results of users indicate that it is minimal IP: Logged |

I've been on Properica for over a year now. my$.02 It hasn't effected gains at all, and I have not been using any AS during this time. I can't see how it can affect while using the juice. Also, it has reduced my libido some, but I haven't encountered any performance issues after the first couple months. ------------------ IP: Logged |

DHT is good for strength, since it improves neural efficiency, but it is a weak anabolic. In terms of muscle growth, it seems to me that keeping perfectly good active testosterone from being converted to DHT, finasteride would actually help growth. GGood point about buying it as proscar instead of propecia LV. Stay huge. Peace ------------------ IP: Logged |

sorry if i hurt your feelings with caps TEXFLEX it was just trying to draw your attention so you could respond normal levels of DHT might be OK for muscle gains but with all that AAS test coarsing thru our systems i think that we should err on the side of caution besides if DHT was a good thing STEN would be the number 1 steroid THIS SITE IS AN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES. HOPEFULLY WHEN ITS ALL SAID AND DONE WE WILL ALL LEARN SOMETHING IP: Logged |

too tell you the truth it is unclear whether proscar will inhibit your gains- if you are using a androgen that has strong central nervous system effects- halotestin- then I Do not believe that it will affect gains at all, however if you are not the inhibition of 5a reductase and the resulting decrease in DHT may reduce your ability to get the same level of contractile force- which may in turn inhibit your gains. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I'm not absolutely sure, but I don't think Halo can be 5 alpha reduced, so, if one were taking high dosage test w/ Halo, Proscar would inhibit the reduction of test to DHT, but should not affect the neural effect that Halo would exert. Also, blocking DHT is not necessarily a guarantee that you won't lose hair. Testosterone can bind to the same receptor sites on the scalp (and prostate) at about 80% efficiency. If this were to cause baldness, it would likely be a function of genetic proclivity. Quite a few biochemists believe that estrogen may play a role in baldness as well. If you're mainly concerned with keeping your hair, then Nizoral shampoo is a pretty good investment. I use the OTC variety; it seems to work fine. IP: Logged |

Its about time somebody brought up the estrogen factor- everybody is always whining about DHT- what about free radicals, what about decrease capillary blood flow- hair loss is not as simple as just DHT. okay done ranting Peace ------------------ IP: Logged |
