(I am 6 ft 155 and 17 years old) I was wondering when and how much protein I should take? I bought Designer Protein and was wondering how many times of day I should take it? It says that 3 scoops added to 1 cup of water is around 52 1/2 grams of protein! Thanks for any reply!!!!!! IP: Logged |

I've always gotten good results spreading out my 'doses' of protein. Supposedly, your body can't digest more than 30-50 grams at one sitting. Eat all you can - all day long! Good luck! IP: Logged |

At 155 lbs, you want to be taking in about 225 grams of protein per day to put on size. The above is correct, the body can only utilize 40-50 grams at a sitting so that needs to be spread out over 5 meals. Figure out how much protein you are getting from your actual meals, and then supplement with your powder to make up the difference to get to 225 grams. good luck, Christian IP: Logged |

you must keep a log book on everthing you eat then you will see totals for everything carbs, fat, prt, cal, for sure eat it thruout the day with evry meal that's the only way to get enough, also check your calories if not high enough up them also seems like you pretty slim IP: Logged |

eat protein all day long, and as much as possible. Just stay away from it for 1 1/2 hours before training. if you eat protein before training it sends all the blood to your stomach and you will not get a full pump! try eating some fruit or oats before workout. After workout eat 40-50 g's of protein with carbs like a potatoe, or pasta! IP: Logged |

Unless you have a HCL problem, you should be able to digest 55-60 gms. 5X aday....as long as you don't dilute with too much carbs, fats , water etc......this will also give 3 1/2 hrs between meals so your gut's not always full. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have protein shakes with every meal- though the meal is usually something carbish-not proteinish- I find that large amounts of meat are hard to digest. six or seven shakes/meals a day 60grams of protein per shake/meal- and I am just a little guy. well relatively little. calories are the most important thing for you to look at if you are 6' and 155 you probably have a high metabolism- this means you are going to have to learn to eat efficiently- the largest amount of calories from foods that are easy for YOU to digest. ------------------ IP: Logged |
