A guy in my gym says he injects in his calves. I was wondering if this was common. Anyone else do this? This guy has huge calves by the way. IP: Logged |

I think you are reffering to SYNTHOL, correct me if I am wrong but Synthol effects are not permanent, injection site has no correlation to growth of that particular body part. IP: Logged |

i've gotta bump Poliquin's routine people look for the easy way out thats fine i'm one of them but pumpin synthol in my body is not one them yet. first--its not working out I ENJOY WORKING OUT to do something that some fuck wad can do sittin on a couch does not interest me now having said that...i've read that synthol enlarges that affected muscle for 3-5 years i've also read that others are working on a better version for site specific growth i'd look into PGF 2a first work hard and do some of Poliquin's routines IP: Logged |

Some guys I know have experimented w/ injecting prop in their weak bodyparts. Other than some minor transient inflammation and an accrual of scar tissue, this practice has had no effects. I think it started a couple of years ago when two top bodybuilders (neither of whom is Wheeler) told people that was how they brought their calves up so much. Of course, they were lying. Synthol does work very well on calves. I gave a buddy his first cycle of Synthol and the first whack in the calves (1cc in each head) brought them both up by an inch and a half in about 5 minutes (really). Subsequent, larger, injections didn't bring them up significantly more than that, although the gains were permanent (now 2 yrs later). PGF-2 gives massive pump, but I haven't seen any site-specific growth (I think the growth comes later, after the fascia has stretched a bit to allow for the new growth. IP: Logged |

You can inject them all day but if you don't train them until you can hardly walk out of the gym then you are not going to get good results. I was blessed with good leg genetics but I train them until I can't lift anymore then go some more. I hear guys say man I walk on my legs all day so I don't hit them hard, bullshit. Be dedicated to them and you will get results. IP: Logged |

CALVES are GENETIC- even with lots of gear some guys calves will never be big- pgf2a or implants are the only real options- sure working them hard it important for growth. but for some reason with calves, the genetic limitations are greater than any other body part- who knows why, but that seems to be the case. everything that I have read says that synthol should not be injected into the calves- I have no personal experience with it nor will I. ------------------ IP: Logged |

SORRY MAC BUT I'M TIRED OF HEARING THAT GENETIC B.S.,IF SOME ONE WANTS SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH GENETICS WON'T STOP THEM! HIT YOUR CALVES EVERYDAY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS 8-10 SETS PER DAY! DO AS MANY REPS AS YOU CAN THEN GO ALL THE WAY UP AND DO MID-RANGE PARTIALS PAST THE BURNING AND THEN DROP TO THE BOTTOM AND DO LOWER END PARTIALS(ONLY HALF WAY UP) AND MAKE THEM SCREAM!! AFTER THAT STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH! 8-10 SETS OF THEM AND THEY WILL GROW!!!! TRY IT! CRYPTONITE IP: Logged |

Thanks cryptonite but I already have good calves I work them once a month or so -genetics- a friend of mine never works them and his are 20 inches- of course his freak ass legs are like tree stumps. his calves were 19 before he took any gear- he is 5'8 another guy that I know hit his calves so hard they should bleed- looks like he has some golf balls attached to his achilles tendon. ive noticed 2 types of calves out there. there are the runners calves: high up, never really have seen these grow on anyone too much. the other being one that looks fuller to begin with, seems easier to get these to respond. oh and then there is mike matarrazo, with some sort of space calves, FREAKY!!! but few have those. I agree about the genetics theory, at least to a point. Its always nice for those with little high up calves to think that if they keep at it they will grow, but you have to look at them now and visualize them increasing in volume and thats the possibility of growth you have. you will probably not be able to get them to drop down and get that full upside down heart shape, its just not pheasable. differences in length of your lower leg and minor differences in origin and insertion points will determine how they look. training just fine tunes them. my opinion and observation anyways. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I agree w/ Macro. If you have a high calf insertion, nothing is going to lower it, although Synthol whacked low enough might help create an illusion of a lower insertion. BTW, my post above should have read 15 mins. after my buddy's Synthol injection, not 5 mins. Still remarkable. IP: Logged |

I've been told several times by pro builders that theres no such thing as spot injecting (I'm talking about gear)I have many friends that inject their tests or whatever in their lacking muscle groups and some seem to beleive that it works I personally think it's all mental. All you can do is train them harder and more often than everything else!! IP: Logged |

You could inject into the calves, won't help that area grow though. Synthol is lame, it'll work, but you'll still be calf raising only 400#. When you do your calf raises, don't go below the platform, do high volume (20+reps), and hit them three or four times a week. IP: Logged |

Water based injectables will cause temporary localized growth in small muscle groups like your Bis, Tris and calves but would require daily injections. Try hitting your calves twice a week with high reps. 15-20 reps per set. IP: Logged |
