What do you guys think about vitamins, what vitamins are important for growth. I want to buy a daily multi vitamin, but there are so many and they have RDA into the 1000's%, does this make sense? Thanks Bros. IP: Logged |

Buy Olympian vitamins, supposed to be very good absorbtion wise or something. Better then Centrum vitamins. Also, I take 1000mg of vitamin C 3x a day and some zinc and Echinacea. As for growth, I don't know but it sure keeps me healthy and when I do get sick it's only for 2-3 days and I dont get extremly sick. Does anyone know if Cranberry is good for growth? IP: Logged |

the rda is designed to give you a minimum amount of a nutrient your body needs so you do not develope a defficiency syndrome... to be honest going over the rda is not only safe but very wise... the rda is minimal requirements... you usually have no worries about vitamins toxicity unless you way over use things like vit A and D. some minerals too (iron, selenium). personally i wouldnt touch centrum, its garbage... go to gnc and get a Ultra mega 2 or even an ultra mega if you only want to take one a day... i like the gold my self... but thats me. if you dont like gnc stuff get "more then a multiple" or "dual tabs". B vitamins are essential for metabolism of foods (ie protiens fats and carbs). minerals are important too, magnesium, zinc, potassium are all very important... you should be covered in all these with any of the things i recommended... if your gung ho, get some individual minerals too. cranberry keeps the urinary tract healthy and keeps the kidneyes "clean" due to the acids in it... it also helps with breaking up formations (like stones) no role in size whatsoever... IP: Logged |

I take ultra megaman twice a day as well as additional C E seleniomethionone, zinc, folic acid, bcomplex, b12 shots, iron, chromium and biotin.

Look into Holistic vitamins for the best results. The One-A-Day's and Such are useless and are only made to make you think you're getting what you need. ------------------ IP: Logged |

For those of you that think more is better, my sister who is a MD constently preaches to me about how taking too many multiples vitamins can supress your immune system. She gave me the ok on two multiples, 3g's C, 1 B complex. Keep in mind that USRDA issues minimums and alot of us need more than the minimum. IP: Logged |

The rda is for sedentary fat people, who sit in an office all day go home eat some more fat food then sleep. It's for people who do that day in and day out, their bodies do nothing, they're never stressed(physically) and they have no requirements. Take the rda and throw it out. If you're following the rda i guarantee you you're deficient in many vitamins. But don't go mega dosing, some vits can br toxic in large amounts do your research.
