Whenever I extend my elbow completely, the joint makes a cracking noise. It also seems that the bones are rubbing together. Is this possible? Will Glucosomine Chondriton work to alleviate this? Will Growth Hormone take care of this?

Thanks for the input.

I've heard the same about Deca.....only temporarily though from the excess fluid in the joints.

I've been fighting with tendonitis in my elbow. Have found that Celebrex (prescription non-steroid based anti-inflamatory) works well. Not sure if tendonitis is what you have, but if so this will help a lot. The only other thing you can do is rest, and that SUCKS.

I had tendinitus in my rt elbow, (called golpher's elbow) it was on the inside, waited to long to see doc and had to have surgery to scrape the scar tissue from tendon. Ouch!!

Don't wait to see your doc. Especially if the bones seem like they are rubbing.

I have major elbow problems too. I saw a doctor way back and it's called ostirouscondritous or somthing, anyways it's when your cartilage in the elbow is cracked. Resting helps and so does surgery, I rested for about a year and I still have the problem. I use a elbow strap which helps alot, you should try it. Does your elbow hurt only during tricep extensions and benching?
I hope I helped

AzNpUmP (dude that's a pain in the ass to type),

What you described could be what I have.(although I think its just good old "tennis elbow"). Mostly hurts on tricep exercises and benching or shoulder presses....although using dumbells helps to take some of the stress off my elbow. I can't do skull crushers or anytype of over the head tricep extension....it friggin' kills!

What type of elbow strap?? Is it one of those neoprene supports? I would like to try that to see if it helps me. Peace.

I have been battling with the same problem, I got tendonites from powerlifting, I had a bad case in both elbos, wrists, collar, and sholder bones. I do take glutamine and Ibuprofin and that seems to help but I wouldn't recomend combining it with A.S. since the Ibuprofin works on your liver. I have also heard of Deca helping. And GH will help with that but it is a very serious drug so read up and learn as much as possible before thinking about G.H.

Hey Weezie how's the Celebrex working for you is it expensive, easily obtainable, Side affects? I went to my doctor about my joint problem and he just told me to rest (which blows) Also Aznpump I would also like to know what sort of elbow brace you are using?

Doing tricep pushdowns, dips, lying tricep extensions are all the exercises that I have trouble with. I can do the first two most of the time, but can't ever do the last(hurts too bad). What kind of an elbow brace are you guys using?

Thanks for the help.

Celebrex is just a prescription strength anti-inflammatory(DayPro is very similar). Actually my Doc gave me a bunch of free samples....just ask. It's suppossed to be easier on your stomach than most other anti-inflammatories. 1 pill/day with food. No side effects.

Has worked very well for me. Took it for about 3 weeks combined with a lighter more controlled tricep workout and made most of my pain subside. That was about 7/8 months ago. I've been lifting heavy again the past few months and I feel it starting to come on again. Don't know if anything will "cure" it, but the Celebrex sure helped and it beats a cortizone shot or surgery.

Good luck.

I have a script for celebrex due to a compression fx in my t-spine The drug is reletively new(fda approved in 98 i think) Usually comes 200mg qd. Its prescibed(generally) for rheumatiod and osteoarthritus The upside is very low incidence of GI upset which is common with naproxen(Alive) and Ibuprophen and it works geat for pain caused by inflamation....The down side is if your young like me (28) Your insurance co may not approve the use of it. The cost to fill a script $80-$90 fo 30 tabs.
