I've been blessed with chronic migraines. Usually I can get by with otc and sometimes darvocet. Usually, about once every 2 months I get a debilitating migraine and have to take imitrex or maxalt. Really no health problems other than that. Seems like blood preassure would be the main concern but mine is always REALLY good. Anyone have personal experience using both? Also, does anyone know how long one should wait to go lift after taking a vasoconstrictor. I asked my doctor and she just says I shouldn't be lifting at all (says I should just do cardio). Whatever! Got you covered on the migraines baby!I am on my 9th one in 9 days!Hopefully today I won't get one! 1)Imetrix or other triptans;you can lift as soon as you feel up to it.But usually your ass is going to be kicked so you won't be doing it right away anyway! 2)counter measures; talke to your DR about taking something dayly to tri to prevent them,such as amatriptiline,varapamil,or there is an anti epaleptic medication you can take (I couldn't find the bottle,didn't work for me) 3) If the cost of the imatrix is getting to you ask your DR for a scipt for CAFERGOT it is the only thing that sometimes works for me.Costs about a dollar per pill VS 15 per pill. One prevenitive that at times has worked for me (stopped a 24 day string of migraines) believe it or not meletonine give it a shot it is cheap ------------------ IP: Logged |

Yo Z, I also suffer (or as you put it, am Blessed) with Migrains. About 4 a week on a good week. I take Imitrex 50 mg tabs and also the Stat dose injections. The only gear I have used is STEN with a cycle of Muscletech products. I noticed only slight gains and got gyno on one side. I asked my Dr. about taking Imitrex along with AS and he said not to take them within a 6 hour period of each other. Thats just what he told me. I would suggest talking to your Dr. and get his/her suggestion. Just feel lucky your not like myself or Deepsquat on the number of Migrains you get. Good Luck Bro B IP: Logged |
