just got back from the doc and he says I might have tore my rotator cuff. How long will this take to heal if it is tore? I go for a mri next week to see. How serious is this? I'd like to hear what every one has to say. I think I did it with heavy incline bench and military presses. thanks for everyones input in advance. Peace bros. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I once had serious rotary cuff problems due to all of the Olympic style snatches (which my first lifting coach or as I like to call him, idiot) incorrectly taught me. It took a good 3-4 months to heal and I hadn't torn them. It will take a while to get back into it, but do not push it. I start every workout with a rotary cuff warm up and stretching routine. I haven't any problems since. Jon ------------------ IP: Logged |

just coming off surgery, (Bankaert repair). At first the doctors thought I had tore my rotator cuff but later discovered that my supraspinatis tendon, biceps tendon and labrum were totally detached from the bone. At first when they thought I had torn my rotator cuff they said that I would be ready to go after three months of rehab and hard-work. Good Luck!! and try7 not to stress it too much. Whatever happenns, happens. Everything happens for a reason.

i tore my rotator cuff about 2 or 3 years ago, and i still don't have the same shoulder as i did, hurts sometimes, and i can't get full motion out of it.... if you do have a torn cuff, do this to see. sit down with your arms at your side, then slowly raise your arm straight out from you body, then when your fist reaches level with your shoulders, go back down slowly..... this is the test that the dr gave me, and when i tride going back down, my arm went limp and fell like a F*CKING ROCK, worst fealing of pain in my life..........
