I have bottle of ephedrine with and expiration date of 09-97 two and a half years ago. what happens to drugs like ephedrine when they're old? do they break down? I've kept them in a cool dry place. ------------------ IP: Logged |

because there is a big shut down of ephedirine in Chicago. Stopped selling it in Seven elevens, and White Hens. I just bought some online from (no affiliation) http://www.drugstore.com but I have about 400 old tabs they seem to work as well IP: Logged |

Pardon me for Bumping this topic up, but since I switched from the old Ephedrine the new, I've lost three pounds (1 1/2 wks) in my ECA stack. so, all you kids out there toss out the old ephedrine

*Most* drugs keep there potency for about two to three years past there potency thene they slowly start to break down and lose there potency. I would still take them, I like the old ones better cuz they were smaller the new ones are about three times the size IP: Logged |

Ok, I wrote this in another post didn't I? Well, here we go again. Drugs "expire" because the drug companies are strictly controlled by the government. They do test to see when a drug has gone from 95-100% down to 90% or less. When it hits 90% that is the "expiration date". Some drugs take 10 years to lose potency others take less than a month. Ephedrine breaks down relatively quickly so, I would say that at 2 and 1/2 years those bad boys are down to less than 60% potency. Also some drugs breakdown to harmless chemicals and some breakdown to poisons..as was mentioned earlier. Anything older than a year after its expiration date should be tossed. Besides they put ephedra in almost every supplement nowadays. Hope that helped. Platinum IP: Logged |

I am using GNC's "Ripped Fuel" It says it has ephedra sinica(from Ma HuangExtract) which they say turns out to be 19mg of Ephedrine Any opinions on this? IP: Logged |
