clomid has a 5 day half life. which means that 16% of the amount of clomid in your body is broken down each day. if you have 300 mg in your body on day 1, you will have 252 mg by day 2. 48mg is 16% of 300 mg.
so why don't we just take 6x the amount we are going to take anyway on day one. that will balance out the amount that is destroyed with the amount that is being brought in. if you are going to take 50 mg every other day (eod), then take 150 mg on day one and 50 mg every other day after that. The amount that is broken down will more or less equalize the amount being brought in. although to get a more accurate dosage you should probably take 25 mg every day instead of 50 every other day.

if you are going ot take 100 mg a day, then take 600 mg on day one (or 350 mg a day on days 1 & 2), and 100 mg a day for the rest of the time you are going to use clomid. It won't really change anything doing it this way because If you take 100 mg a day, the amount going into your body will be more than the amount coming out and eventually the amount coming in will be equal to the amount coming out. but it would save time this way. you could cut a week off of the amount of time it takes for the clomid to start working.
