you don't say what he's trying to do. if its get cut he'll need more cardio between 4-6 days 35-45 minutes per day. also diet plays alot into it and that was not mentioned either. also keep in mind that on guys tyhe last thing and the herdest to do is lose lower stomache fat but as bodyfat goes down and al the others come into play it will be gone IP: Logged |

I guess you can say that he is on a bulking cycle of test/decca/dbol. Does he need to do more cardio for a bulking cycle or keep in minimal. IP: Logged |

I would say that the 6 to 7 meals should be a little leaner that he is used to but you do need the fat...With that combo i would not worry that much about the fat until you are tapering off the cycle then i would throw in some winny for the definition..Im by far from an expert but that is what i am in the process of doing as we speak. My friend did pretty much what i just described and the winny at the end made a big difference in the body fat, he did not loose that much of his gains either...except for the water gain...levi.... isf he's bulking keep the cardio where it is and just eat the right foods . keep protein and carbs high but fat low. you really should not worry if your bulking about having cut abs. as long as you can see them under a thin layer of fat when your bulking your doing fine. when i bulk i go to 14% bodyfat and when i compete as di am doing now 13 weeks out i am at 7.2% going down to 2.5% so as you can see the goal is different and he should enjoy the muscle size he will gain but still keep the diet as clean as possible IP: Logged |

In order to lose fat with cardio, you need to do it 4 times or more a week. 3 times will only maintain your current status. As an certified instructor I can tell you that for sure. ------------------ IP: Logged |

If he's on a on a bulking cycle, I would even worry about it now. Tell him to wait until thats over to worry about the fat%. Just make sure that he doesn't add any fat to what he's already got. I made the same mistake of trying to gain mass, while trying to drop my spare tire. It slowed down my gains to almost nothing. I would also drop the cardio down to 1 time a week. It all depends on his goals. The more lean muscle mass he adds right now, the higher his metabolism will be when he desides to cut. Just keep telling him how good he looks, and that will keep up his drive to train. I was getting in to a rut, until I saw a old buddy that I hadn't seen in a few weeks. He kept telling me how much bigger I was getting. I couldn't wait to go to the gym. IP: Logged |

Even on a cutting cycle you won't notice too much spare tire loss after two weeks. For bulking I would eat any and everything under the sun (see food diet). Just keep the fats down, and watch the sugar intake, try to keep that zero. Worry about cutting after the muscle gain IP: Logged |
