I too love seeing the effects of training with juice or without. I feel better when im training, im not as tired throughout the day, sex is better, and a lot of other reasons. Ultimatly though i lift to see myself grow in the mirror as im blasting my guns, or see my quads rip up as im doing leg extensions. I also do it to hear people tell me how good i look that is such a confidence booster. oversized IP: Logged |

I love it. One reason is that I don't think i can go more than 3 days without lifting...I'm addicted. Everybody is intimidated by me too. It gives me a sense of power.....or for all you philosophers out there.....a master morality. you guys might not know what that means. its a Nietzschein term. But i just like the self-confidence it gives me. Plus chics dig the bod. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hey biz. I lift weights as though it is a game. I set my goals, prepare for them, and obtain them. To me, everytime I go into the gym it is gameday. Winning is getting stronger and bigger. Losing sucks, but when it happens I go back and take a look at the variables involved(diet, rest, intensity, etc.), change them and try again. To me training is a game, that is why I do it. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I started simply to rehab a knee injury from football...hit the weights hard or go under the knife. Then it just became a self promoting egotistical way of life. Competition (in any form) keeps you focused not only on the sport but in everything that you do. In my business life, intelligence and intimidation are key. I use my training as a way to relax so that I don't take out my frustrations on the family. To put it very simple. I am a self centered arrogant son of a bitch that is used to being in charge and likes being the biggest dog on the porch. Here kitty kitty. ------------------ Don't hate me because I'm HUGE ! I do it because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. I set a goal and I strive for it. It is very addictive. If I go awhile w/o lifting, I get really cranky. Everyone tells me I'm big enough, but that's not all it is about. It is something that is not easy to do. If it was everybody would be big. What percent of men can bench press 300 lbs? Not very many. It is something no one can take away from me, and I know that I did it on my own. I'm glad to answer this question on my 100th post. ------------------ [This message has been edited by OKIE (edited February 24, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I do it because it makes the assholes in this world think twice before they decide to fuck with me. Not that I think I'm a badass or anything. In fact going to the gym is what helps to keep me humble. Most of you guys could probably squish me in the gym--but then most of you guys aren't assholes either ;-] IP: Logged |

I do it because it makes me feel better, look better, and have the power and strength to do what I want. The Gym has become a part of my life. If it were not there I don't know what i'd do. I guess it's an escape to let out my frustration, while I stay built and achive new goals. I'm to the point that I get pissed off, and noone can stand to be around me if I miss the Gym! I do it for ME IP: Logged |

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN WHAT HAPPENS TO A ROACH WHEN SOMEONE SEES IT COMING OUT OF HIDING? IT GETS STEPPED ON, RIGHT? BUT IF IT WAS BIG AND HAD BICEPS LIKE DORIAN YATES I KNOW NOONE WOULD EVEN CONSIDER EVEN SAYING WITHIN EARSHOT OF IT THAT IT IS UGLY AND REPULSIVE IF IT WAS. LETS FACE IT MOST TIMES THE WEAKEST LOOKING GET STEPPED ON. NO MATTER HOW SMART YOU MAY BE IF YOU DONT LOOK RUGGED YOU WILL BE LIKENED TO A GEEK. ITS A CHOICE WE MAKE GET BIG OR GET SHAFTED. OTHERWISE THAN THAT BODYBUILDING IMPROVES SELF ESTEEM, NICE FITTING OUTFITS, AND NO ONE CAN TAKE IT FROM YOU.

Thats a good question Biz, that can bring 5 million different answers. I guess I live this lifesyle because of the mere discipline of it all. Its a competition going on within your own mind with yourself. I know Ive bitched on here from time to time about my diets, and counting this and that all the time, but deep down I Love It! Some of it is ego, and getting looks and stares, but I dont like the attention perse' from someone who says "wow, that dude is big" but from those who say "wow, I could never discipline myself to do that" Its a honor to be a lifter at all times in everyway. Sure pumps are killer, strength is great, but is the feeling you get right in the middle of your gut when your in the middle of a set, and the pain is building, and you know that joe shmoe over there would just drop the weight, but you....oh no....not you... and you push 3 steps beyond that threshold..exhausted out of breath..dizzy. Thats the feeling I love, and the extreme I will always go through to beat the warrior within. Confucius once said something along the lines of "a man who can conquer himself, is the greatest warrior of all" True That!! Bleed Iron Always Bros, Later. IP: Logged |

heck yeah WCP! I started little over 5 years ago when I was in the military. Boot camp had left me super thin and I had to go home on leave for Christmas. I wanted to get bigger for that, I dont even think i gained any weight before then but fell in love with the sport from then on. Since then I went from 145 (yeesh) to 185 (not bad). of course I cant look back til I hit 200 and am standing onstage with an overall title. heh heh. and even then its just off to another goal. thats the great thing about it. you never run out of things you can do. oh and I guess making loud noises when setting big ass dumbbells down is fun too ------------------ IP: Logged |

I love the size, the intimidation factors it has. I love looking at my self at my age and other men my age around here look 10 years older than me and their arms half the size of mine. I like the physical fitness and endurance that it promotes. I love seeing the strength that I have, especially compared to that of co-workers who have trouble handling certain items and I have no problem. This may sound a little conceited but to me it is an accomplishment, I first went into the sport in '85 and was puny but now I am large and powerful and that makes me feel good. IP: Logged |

I do it for a lot of different reasons. I'm married, so I don't really worry about the girls, because my wife is the bomb. I guess the biggest reason is for the way it makes me feel, being strong and powerful makes you feel like you can take anything head on, at work or out on the street. IP: Logged |

I like being BIG. now, of course that's relative, but being the biggest guy on the block. Seems like as soon as you get ot a level where you're sure you're one of the BIG GUYS, some dude shows up in the gym you've never seen before who can squat 100 lbs more than you. Then I want to get as big and strong as him. Plus man, the pump just feels so good. And the post endorphins, oooh the endorphins.... ------------------ IP: Logged |

because, being big is everything, society respects you more. I never wanted to be normal, being normal and unnoticed spells a useless life, follow your dreams and get huge. I used to get into fights, when I was scrawny, but now, no need for fights at all anymore. And in the office or in real life, wether people notice it or not, you get preferential treatment even from your supperiors IP: Logged |

I started sixteen years ago to rehabilitate an ankle injury while in the Corps. I couldn't even press 135 pounds and I was 19. Then it became a habit, now it is a way of life. I have had doctors tell me to stop my body was not meant for that. I told 'em to F*&k off. Then, girls started to comment on how good I looked. My last girl, stepped back one day to see if she was seeing what she thought. She was, all of the girls walking by me were staring at my physique. In short I am an egotistacal, male pig, who loves himself, and would rather die young looking good than old and pathetic. Discipline, loyalty to iron, that is me. If you have ever seen the 13th warrior, the way that guy fought at the end and then died as a king sitting on his throne chair. That is the dedication, we have to the iron, Conan the Barbarian, says it all too. I could go on and on, in short, I am the best! Rock on Bro's
