i'm finding out that i'm haveing a hell of a time getting all of the protein i need each day.

with my job i'm finding it hard to get away and eat as offten as i should. i'm also finding that i just can't eat the necessary amount of food, i feel like i'm going to explode.

any tips on how to get the protein you need each day. or tips on how to sneak away for a quick bite. keep in mind i work about 12-15 hours most days. i can't just make it up when i get off each day. and sneaking away to eat several times a day isn't very easy.

i figure some of you or maybe most of you have come across this problems and could lend me a hand.

as always, thanks for the info!

Damn, that must be hard, i feel for you, how do you find the time to work out??? I'd be beat after that.

Try protein bars, and keep up witht the shakes, try gainers fuel 2500 by twinlab, that's a good one, expensive as hell but good.

Try to pack a few bags of luch that will last through the day and eat as you work. Just don't make it look like you think there is a problem with that and they probably won't mind. As long as it doesn't interrupt your work flow you should have no prob.

shakes and lots of them
if calories is the problem peanuts and cashews as well as other nuts are good sources of fatty acids- high in calories and very portable.

Carb drinks will help with calories
I personally mix 75gr dextrose- from beer brewing store
with 10 grams of fructose- health food store
and 75 grams glucose polymers- kilosports.com
and kool aid for flavor
creatine and glutamine if desired
640 calories that will leave you hungry in a about an hour. good for immeadiate post workout drink.

peace

Ok Bro,
Check it out.

I'm in the middle of a very strict pre-contest diet. I take in so much fuckin protien, that I can't even take a shit without it being very painful(due to the dentsity of the shit)!!!!!!

My diet consist of this:

All Portions uncooked amounts:

7:00 am- 1 cup oatmeal

10:00 am- 3 Scoops of whey protien.

1:00 pm- 2 cups of rice and 8-10 oz of chicken breast. Veggie if you want!!!

4:00 pm- 3 scoops of whey protien

7:00 Same as lunch

10:00 pm- whey protien 3 scoops

You can mix in fresh fish, tuna or turkey for the chicken. Also mix in yams for the rice every once and a while.

e-mail me for more details. cavermeulen@uswest.net

This diet will teild about 250-300 grams of protien per day.

I'm 6' 208lbs and 7.0%BF with 6 more weeks of diet before show. I should go in around 4-5.5%BF.

Adjust according to your bodywieght. Remember this is a cutting diet, however it yeild very high amounts of protien so find a way to get some fiber.

Good luck Bro

Purchase a George Foreman grill. Grill you some chicken breasts, steaks, fish. You will lose most of the fat in the cooking process. The time it takes to actually cook on this grill is minimum. For example, I can cook 9 hamburgers in about 10 minutes.
A miracle product for people who have busy schedules.

when i have to be away from hoome for time there are a few aproaches;

-good old fruit; youcan eat very easily

-Protein shakes; i already posted reacently that Im going for a shake with skim milk, a scoop of whey, a scoop of soy, chocolate, flax seed oil.

-Power sandwiches, any variation accepted; lettuce, tomato, tuna, chopped hard boiled egg, ham, low fat cheese, chicken breasts.... shitload of protein and very easy to prepare and eat anywere withought strange looks.

-I dont really like tupers, but if you have to have lunch out on a regular basis get used to them.

PD; if youre going to have to be eating away from home, invest in protein... i mean buy in bulk. Its more economic than going to mcdonalds.

Ok here's what I do...

Get a gallon jug, fill it with protein powder and water. Drink through out the day. Also pack some hardboiled eggs in a little baggy, in the same baggy put a couple cans of sardines.
Breath and gas may be tough, but it works for me.

Same boat....a fairly easy solution.
Buy prepackaged chicken breast...110cal. 25g of protein. Thaw the breasts and cut them into little chunks, cooks up quick in a frying pan, and season how you want (I like the extra spicy Ms. Dash, or garlic pepper)
Packs a couple of those puppies in some rubber maid containers and you can snack on them piece by piece all day. At breaks go for some 1% cottage cheese (fat free to me is nasty) Cooking your chicken this way makes it like finger food, and is good for snacks, especially with fat free, low sodium natural ranch dressing....yum.!
Protein shakes are a must, and maybe look for shakes with higher protein content per serving...like Human Developments Tech's
Good Luck Bro,
Chef WCP

anyway, what do you guys prefere/look for in a shake and why? there's so much info out there on what's important in these shakes that i'm having trouble zeroing in on the important ones. any personal concoctions?

use protein mixes, but triple the amount of protein in them. If you are supposed to put 3 tablespoons of protein in an 8 oz. glass of milk, put 6-9 tbls. in instead. combine it with peanut butter to cover up the taste. i have done that before. i could get 80 g protein from an 8 oz. protein shake doing that. put maybe 24 oz of this solution in a thermos and drink that throughout the day. you have to mix it really well so that it sticks together though. over 270 g of protein right there.

Agree shakes are expensive, but so is high protein food, in the long run shake prices aern't too bad. Buy protein in bulk, that cuts prices down some!

XXXL..

alright bro! one of my friends is in the same boat as you are, and this is what i told him ( and it worked fine )

tell your boss you need to talk to him about the problem.

sit down with him, and tell him how it is. tell him your not wanting to go hide half the day, buy tell him you have a strict diet, were you have to eat 6-8 times a day. he can't fire you for being a bodybuilder, worst he can say is he cant treat you any better than other employees.

but this is what my friend did, and his boss cut him some slack.....remember no one is going to give you 8, 15 min brakes a day.....best thing to do is bring shakes, and bars to work.......hope this helps

if you buy protein in bulk, and mix soy and and whey you can actually get a cheap protein source.

In my shakes, carbs come from skim milk, baby pouredge (fucking spelling), fruit, oatmeal.... cheap sources

I add fructose as a sweetner.
