I'll be taking my first injection soon and I'm wondering about pain... I was wondering if anybody here knows how much bigger a needle they use for an IV than a 23gauge hypodermic needle is. The IV was nothing, just like a bugbite.... if the 23g is even less painful than that, I'm worry free! IP: Logged |

An IV will be larger than a 23g needle. If an IV was a bugbite, then you won't even feel the 23g. Jon ------------------ IP: Logged |

Most nurses when giving an IV give you some lidocaine before because the needle is damn big, they numb your hand or arm before sticking you. DOn't worry about your shot, it will be nothing
