Most of us have a success story that we are proud of. Mine is that I started bodybuiding with a strong commitment just over a year ago. 5'11" about 150lbs. I know weight roughly 185-190lbs with 10% bodyfat. Not bad for the first year.

I've been lifting for 2 years..I sure most of you warm up with that weight but hey that's my accomplishment!

Ooops, sorry, were you referring to success stories in the gym? First time to bench 315 X 8 - - last month.

the first time I squatted 315 for reps.

even better than the first time you get 225 on the bench

land marks

I'll let you all know when I bust the 350 bench barrier. I envy any of you benching in the 4s and 5s.

It was a gradual process, but there came a day when people started coming to me to ask for advice in the gym instead of vice-versa. I knew I'd crossed a threshold at that point.

And today I'm going to get 6 reps on 225lbs on the incline for the first time ever. Think positive! Think strong!

My success story is that this past summer I was in California doing show's presenting for sponsors like Reebok and Nike. Well, the stage collapsed and the scaffolding came crashing down with the lighting system which of coarse tore my left leg apart. Pieces of bar were stuck through my leg! I needed muscle reconstruction on my leg and knee. Since then, I have been in therapy, but the other day I decided to start going again and was able to hit the squats at 225lbs. And I hit the leg press at 430lbs. I was phsyched!

Had a total of 6 units of blood transfused into me spent a week in the hospital.and have been recover from the accident ever sense. The blood loss is what really kicks your ass,I felt like I was hit by a truck for about 6 weeks.Going back to work on Sunday! There now you know what my signiture stands for!!!!!!

I have most of my strenght back now except for my back,I still have an incredible lat spread up high, but have lost the ability to flex in down low.The day before the accident was doing bent over rows with 315 for 8 yesterday was using 205,only lost 110 lbs! Could manage 30 pullups , now 6.Hope fully will get the flexing ability back after the nerves regenerate. The surgeon said he had never cut through that much lat so ha did not no for sure. One day soon I will post a picture of the scare 11 1/2 inces long, 25 staples

My story is a little different being a woman. I was married to an abusive jerk who kept me pretty much locked up away from the public eye. I was way overweight and hated anything to do with sex being that my self image was so low. After 10 years of hell, I escaped, went back to school and spent most of the time in the gym or running. The transformation was amazing to say the least. When your body changes, everything about you changes. I turned lean and rock hard. My body image has changed drastically and my sex drive is OFF THE CHARTS!!!!!!!!!! My new husband is lucky to see the light of day!!! Best of luck to you DeepSquat. My prayers are with you.

how can you be happy about your gains when you're using cycles, i mean i was pretty impressed with what i read but your gains would feel so much better if you knew you were the one doing it not the cycles
Good fucking job deepsquat i was in almost in the same boat with hureina i fucked myself though by lifting with it for 3 months
had surgery and then took 3 more months off with nothing notta bro noweights pushups movement doc said one of the biggest tears he had ever seen but back to doing 400 for reps on the squatrack deep and clean only 355lbs 1 rep at the end flat bench workout but 335 for reps 2-3 good job to joe juicer on incline im in the same boat with 225 for 6-8reps my gains are very hard being in the army and infantry at that am currently deployed in kosovo but have time when were not busting in heads and doors

Anytime I put more 45's on the bar (squat bench deadlift whatever) it is cause for celebration. When I first benched 225, then 315, and very recently 405

HELL YEAH!!!

I get more out of working on the bench goals - just because it has always been harder for me to gain uper body strength - and OF COURSE A BIG THANK YOU TO 2Thick FOR GIVING ME A TRAINING IDEA TO BREAK THE 385 PLATEAU I WAS STUCK AT.

As far as a singular success - a few years back I had a skydiving accident (parachute opened just patially) and broke my ankle in 5 places. After 6 operations, I was "as good at it was going to get".....

Undeterred, I pushed myself hard, and when my squat went over 500 pounds again, it was a really meaningful thing.
