I have noticed that when I have an extremely viscious workout, like my leg workout last night. That my problems sleeping are amplified. My legs wanted to twitch all night, couldn't fall asleep. Was extremely tired too! Was wondering if the body releases some kind of chemical due to the hard wo that inhibits sleep? Even 9 hours later. Chesty IP: Logged |

Sounds like Latic Acid...My suggestion if you can help it dont workout so late, try working out earlier in the evening...What time was that workout at anyway? I've had similar problems to this...it might be something else but I've attributed my problem to latic acid just for the simple fact that I've had this problem alot when I was a runner and my legs would get really wornout so I know the feeling all to well [This message has been edited by TxCollegeguy (edited February 15, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Have you tried a muscle relaxant? Maybe that could help you out. Just an opinion... ------------------ IP: Logged |

The uncontrollable twitching is a nervous reaction(nerve). The body is repairing itself and preparing nerves for the stressed overload it received and for the next that may come. Hence the twitching. If it is part of what keeps you up at night or even to the point that it wakes you up period, you may want to look into a mild muscle relaxant. Maybe even an over otc pain releiver that would aid in helping you rest comfortably. ------------------ IP: Logged |
