Maybe it is just me but since I eat every three hours, I usually wake up at least once sometimes twice during the night to eat- I dont mean that I set my alarm, I just wake up starving. usually about 3.5 hours after going to sleep- I eat right before bed. Does anyone have similar experiences? BTW- I think that the fact that I take 200mg alpha lipoic with every meal may be part of the reason for this, because it never used to happen before that. I think that its a glucagon related deal becuase of my blood sugar dropping during the night. Any opinions? Peace ------------------ IP: Logged |

I always eat before bed. Never a meal only protien shakes about 1hour before bed. I also have sleeping problems and wake up alot during the night so while i,m up I figure that I might as well have another shake. Cant get enough protien!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have the same situation. I wouldn't exactly call it a problem. My friends envy me because I can eat more than they can. I can eat all day long, and it helps to put on the pounds. I say, accept it as a blessing. But i don't know any of the scientific stuff, sorry. Just trying to look at things from a different view. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I, too, am the same way. I usually wake up at night and have a shake. It does wonders for me. Then I wake up in the morn. starving again. Which shows me that I am using that shake. Stay big IP: Logged |

For the past three years I've been waking up at midnight and 3am to drink a shake and eat some cheese. Most of it's because we've had two babies during that time and thats about when they wake up anyway (bottles, diapers etc). IP: Logged |

I used to set the clock and get up and eat i the middle of the night when i first started and had trouble gaining weight. I think you just have to train yourself to be a big eater. Starting out eating 5-6 small portions and then adding a little to each meal gradually. Over a period of time it will build up. Your body will become accusyomed to eating at certain intervals and you will become hungry at these times. I remeber when i first started i was only eating 2 meals a day, now if i go 3 hours without eating i am starved. kpumpin IP: Logged |

I also wake up in the middle of the night. Usually because I have to pee! But then I almost always go to the fridge starving. I've noticed i've been sleeping bettwer since adding more fat to my diet(1 tbsp. flaxseed oil before bed) as well as taking melatonin 1/2 hour before bed. --HARDWORK-100MPH IP: Logged |

like most i have alot of protein before bed, but since ive been taking that zmass stuff it cant have alot of calcium in it, so i usually use egg protein or have a few eggs or chicken before bed... but in the middle of the night i drink the "pure protein" shakes by world wide, i mean, they slam easy and they give ya 30 grams of protein in about 30 seconds... then its back to bed... I usally wake up at least once around 2:45 - 3:15 very thirsty and hungry. I usally eat a cup of yogart, and a small chicken breast and drink 3-4- glasses of water..... livinbig IP: Logged |

Yup, midnight snacks are the best - and a nice wizz cause of all the water. On the ALA situation, are you getting it in the form of Flax or is it completely seperate? Been taking Flax and Primrose myself and have not had this type of reaction. Taking these two gives ya all the Omega-3 and then some. Maybe take a bit more...?? I'm taking a least 500mg of the ALA. sounds unanimous-but i dont wake up eat. maybe a good leak... i eat twice daily, i know i know- but it works for me did i mention that i take 60 grams of aminos a day religiously? often more IP: Logged |
