Okay, I have heard several opinions on this, some say that while on a bulking cycle, dont worry about the fat gains, and just cut up afterwards on a cutting cycle. But, I also heard that you can do both. A good friend of mine swears that you can add muscle and lose fat while on a bulking cycle. In theory since caffeine attacks fat cells and anabolics binds to your receptors is it possible to gain muscle and burn fat at the same time? I also read where skip lacuour says that you can.........all theories are welcome bros!!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

I belive you can perfectly bulk and shread at the ame time (i asume you were refering to doing both of them with no AS), but Im prety shure you can go faster if you do one at a time. It,s something similar to martial arts were ive seen guys try to gain stricking power, mass, or strength, and mantain the same level of trining, YOU CANT DO BOTH, well at least not eficiently. If all you whant is 2b ripped all year long read my suggestion on dieting and tell me what you think. One more thing tell your friend that if he can perfectly put on lean mass, and drop fat he could see better results by simply doing one at a time. IP: Logged |

I think you can do both, however, I would allow some fat gain (keep it minimal) it helps with the strength. Therefore you can lift heavier recover quicker and get bigger. You don't want to over do it though. I would keep my fat intake (good fat) to around 150 to 200 while bulking. And watch your type of carb intake, don't add too many simple carbs keep them low gylcemic and complex. I agree to that better results can be obtained by doing one at a time. I have a friend who stays lean all year and to this day looks identical to when I first met him 3 years ago. Chesty IP: Logged |

I don't agree, i think if you want best results while on a bulking phase you should eat like an animal and not worry to much about your bf%. I think you should give your body everything it needs and more to make sure that you're got all the nutrients that you need to stack on all of that muscle. If that makes you put on abit of fat, so be it. No big deal, jsut rip it off in three weeks after your cycle. I wouldn't wanna walk around thinking that i could have had another 5 lbs of muscle if i'd eating like a horse instead of watching what i ate.

I agree with E2. Gain as much as you can while bulking it up. Eat everything your body can handle and then some. You put a little on the stomach... big deal. You'll take it off and diet down after the bulking phase of it. If you don't eat like a horse, you aren't going to make the gains like you should. So it really depends on what you're after. If you wanna stay shredded an lean 52 weeks a year, that's a different story. If you can tolerate putting on a bit in the midsection for 10-12 weeks... the size gains would be worth it. IP: Logged |

OK, so were all in favor as to eating as pigs during a mass phase, but thats only ok if youre naturaly lean (I know im fat by nature). If I dont eat correctly Ill pick up fat bigtime. When I start mass phase i go gradually up but on clean food (low glycemic, good proportions, etc...) and I find I can climb up to very very big amounts of clean food until I star seeing fat bild up, and when I do I cut back a little and stay there unless my gains or energy drop or stay the same. When you're on, EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT.....because when you're on is when you'll be most able to grow. Then shred when you are off. It will be very hard to grow (comparatively) when you are off, so use that time to get ripped. Matt IP: Logged |

SOMEONE MENTIONED A FAT RICH DIET TO LOSE WEIGHT A WHILE BACK AND MAYBE IT HAS A CHANCE TO WORK IF YOU LIMIT THE CARBS THE FAT HAS TO GO AND YOU THRIVE ON WHAT YOU EAT. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? IP: Logged |

I agree that you should do some heavy eating during your cycles, but my body has a tendency to put on fat. Some of my friends are eating like pigs and stuffing their faces with steroids, and they are extatic if they gain 10 pounds. I have no problem gaining weight. If I don't watch what kind of food I eat, I can gain 20 pounds (mostly fat of course) without steroids really fast. When I'm on a cycle though, I burn a lot of calories, so I can put on a lot of weight and have good muscle gains compared to the fat. But when I taper down on the cycle, I start putting on lots of fat at once. To lose fat, I got to have such a low calory intake, that I have problems keeping my mass. Are there any one else having problems like mine(your body's a natural fat magnet)? Summer's coming up soon, so I have to start worrying about getting ripped. I'm thinking about doing an ECA-stack, while using some testosterone to keep the mass. But I'm not gonna cut down on the calories too much. IP: Logged |
