I've taken Niacin in the past to combat blood lipids while on accutane. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take it while on a cycle, to improve the "good" to "Bad" cholesterol ratio, and if there would be a problem with a megadose (3-6 grams a day is what is required to effect cholesterol) ~what is joy but intoxication? It's no problem taking niacin in those doses, but i wouldn't really recommend it. Niacin doses of greater than 3 grams causes your body to use glycogen at a much faster rate than normal, as well it prevents your body from using fatty acids as fuel, so i dont really know why you'd want to do that. If you do take it watch out, you'll deplete your glycogen very fast.

It may be more sensible to maintain the dosage of niacin at levels below 1500mg per day or max 1000mg per day. You may also want to spread it out over several hours instead of large doses in one sitting. Check out also the different versions of vitamin B3 (flush vs. no-flush). References are on Medline.
