ASSFACE usually approches life with humor. THis post is the exact opposite. This post is about testing yourself as a brother of Iron. Those in the brotherhood know that no change takes place with out pain, blood, big 45 pound plates, and a cloud of chalk.
Next time you do your deadlifts, and I mean do your deadlifts, try this out. I dont recommend this for beginners, or intermediates for that matter. This is the total workout. You will not need to do anything else after you finish this. you wont be able to. If you are ready, and you are willing to test your brotherhood, hear goes.
THis is a deadlift workout that will effect your entire body. People will look at you funny. Enjoy the spotlight.
Start - take 2-3 dymetadrine 30 minutes before you train. Drink a coffee or mountain dew on the way to the gym.
WHen you get to the gym - do whatever it is you do to warm up for 5-10 minutes. Then go to the power rack area of the gym and grab 3 olympic bars on your way.
DO 2-3 sets of deads to work up to a 5 rep max. Your test of brotherhood begins now.
You have one bar loaded with a 5rep max.
Load another bar with about 10% less.
Load another bar with 30% less than the 5rep max bar. You can see the evil taking place.
KEEP PERFECT FORM THROUGHOUT!!!!!!!!!
SET 1 - Rep out 5 with the 5 rep max, count to 30 then hit the -10% bar for whatever you can do - its maybe 1 -3 reps - count to 30 and hit the -30% bar for a possible 2-3 reps.
Rest 3-5 minutes
Set 2 - ADD 5% wieght to the 5rep bar and DROP the other bars about 5%. Do the same drop pattern.
Set 3 - Grab one bar with about 65% of your 5 rep max. Stand on a 3-4 inch platform that will allow the weight to drop lower than the floor would. DO perfect form reps in a 5second lower,2second pause,1second lift. Let the weights hit the floor but keep tension on the bar.
Clean up your weights, put yer sweats on and go home. Dont do this more than once every 3-4 weeks.
I have been using this scheme for about 6 months - my traps have exploded, my legs beefed up, and my deadlift has gone up 70 pounds, naturally too so I know it is the training. Let me know how it goes.
ASSFACE IS DONE FOR THE DAY
AND I CAN GARANTEE THE BIG ASS LITTLE HONDURAN WILL SUPPLY YOU WITH ENOUGH 45 POUND PLATES

it sounds like you have never done drop set deadlifts. The rest is needed because you feel like you will drop dead if you dont take it. Trust me on only doing this workout like this. If you are not sore the next day, do one more drop set. GOOD LUCK.

Okay, it took me a couple of reads to do the math.

but uh that looks pretty damn taxing.

even tougher than the old 20 reps squat thing. (ten rep max, then take a few breaths, one more rep, few breaths one more rep until you get to 20)

AF,

Nice to see that somene else appreciates deadlifts. I'll do it and get back to you.

As one who appreciates this often neglected exercise, I can say to the others, you're gonna need the rest.

i like to do this with one bar, he he he,
so between sets, you have to change the weights, then soon as your done changing them, you have to do your next set. NOW THAT KILLS YOU

First do you always have to talk in the 3rd person
Second if this works for you then more power to ya but it really doesn't seem all that impressive actually to me it sounds kinda rediculous using all those bars.
You've got to make a decision are you training for powerlifting or BB but not both at the same time. For starters in 2-3 sets of warm ups how high in weight can you actually get (I would think about 315lbs) which indicates that your 5 rep max really isn't all that big so no one is going to be impressed. Or your going up in weight to fast not really getting a good warm up
Why not just doing 5 sets of 5 with i minute rest for those sets. and then doing stiff leg dead lifts on the box as opposed to the regular dead lifts. I trained using 8 sets of 3 with 30 seconds rest and at the end try and rep the 8th set out. I did this once a week for 5 weeks (along with the rest of my leg workout) and really blew up fast. Its just too much equiptment to use at once. And in my gym if i tried using all of that equiptment the other guys would think i was an ass, hogging all of that equiptment for 1 lift.
Like i said if you like it and it helps you then awsome keep moving the weight and im not trying to start any flames between us.
but i just wanted to through my oppinion out there that i'm not i full agreement with this type of training.

Assface has to talk in the third person because he is such as ASSFACE!!. As far as bodybuilding vs powerlifitn training, Id rather powerlift anyday, but variety and change breed growth. I simply like this workout because it forces growth. If equip is a prob do what big tex does - strip the weights between sets and then hit it. Assface is even going to give it a try because it sound even HARDER. GROWTH MUST BE FORCED.
I do question the 315 for 5 reps, I didnt even discuss wieght because it varies so much from person to person. BUt, ASSFACE delights in controversy. 315 for 20 any day of the week. ASSFACE says you do the math, and I mean do the math, as far as what ASSFACE does for 5 reps.
ANd to answer the other dudes question, I do this workout with a sumo style for the drop sets, then use a conventional style for the set on the box. HEheh, box.
WHERE ASSFACE WALKS, MUSCLES GROW.
