I can't believe it. I had the privilage of meeting this great man about 4 years ago at a football camp. He even talked to me personally. He gave me a quote in which I have lived by ever since. "When you get to a point where you don't strive to get better, you can only go down from there." R.I.P. C.J. IP: Logged |

He was a GREAT Role Model for me when I was in Jr. High and playing football, I can remember when I was really young watching him play in College. I played defensive end, and strived to play just as hard as him, because I admired him so much...Watching him this past season made me think about playing again. Now I know once I get the size I need I will go back to it. R.I.P IP: Logged |

Both Derrick Thomas and the NBA's Bobby Phills were not wearing their seat belts at the time of their accident. I know I may sound like an asshole...but that's the truth. I hate wearing the f**kin thing, but I would hate it even more to see how my family would take it if I didn't come home. RIP Derrick IP: Logged |

First want to say what's up to skywalker, and i agree with him. Professionals now a days think they are indestructable, not true. It's always sad when a pro that you like to watch passes, but they're still human, they aren't above the law. They need to take precautions like everybody. IP: Logged |

One of the top pass rushers of all time. I live in denver and we hated when he would kick the crap out of Elway. but it is a really sad day in football land today. IP: Logged |

I really don't know what to say about Derrick, it has all been said, because everyone knows. He was so amazing on the feild, but he was ten times the man off the feild. IP: Logged |

He supposedly died from a blood clot, even though the doctors were and had been giving him blood thinners. He was one of the players that I would always boo, because I couldn't stand how he always beat the crap out of my favorite teams. He definitely had my respect, and the respect of anyone that knew just who he was and what he was all about. It's terrible that he died at such a young age. It truly makes you sit down and think about a lot af things. R.I.P. IP: Logged |

for some reason i feel more for DT then i did for payne or phills or payton... i liked dt and grew up watching him... reminds me of HS when me and my buds would just chill in the library skippin class goin over the stats... laughing at him cuz when he sacked seattle 7 times setting the record, he missed his 8th sack barely and the qb threw a td on that one... i was mad at dt then i had like 20 on the game. i'm not the biggest god man around but "god bless ya DT". now, they didnt release info yet, but he was supposed to be "healthy", i am thinking he wasnt so happy being "useless", so... i think were gonna see a twist soon. From what i gather of the story he had paralysis from the shoulders down. I hate to be the biggest asshole but I suspect that Mr. Thomas would not want to spend his life in that condition. Neither would I. Sometimes the person or God just says let go. IP: Logged |

2THICK--He supposedly died from a blood clot, even though his doctors had been giving him blood thinners. I guess it was just his time to go. I always used to boo him because he constantly beat the crap out of my favorite teams. He was a one-man wrecking crew on the field. He deffinitely had my respect, and the respect of anyone who knew who he was and what he was all about. R.I.P. ROOK IP: Logged |
