I have been dieting for 4 weeks now and my appetite has all but disappeared. My energy reserves are zero.

I get between 250 300 gms protein, 100-200carbs and 50 or so fat. I changed my carbs from breads, potatoes and rices to vegatable and some fruit I have one serving of oatmeal w/water in morning and carbs after workout and with evening meal. Rest of day is protein only.

I take a multivitamin and have Xenadrine througout the day. I have five months to go to cut up, If my energy levels don't elevate it is going to be a long and painful road.

Any thoughts welcomed.

This is a common complaint I hear often.

Lag rats can display diet results in a minumum for 8 hours, unfortunately we aren't lab rats. Humans often take 4-6 weeks to display results from a diet change (except in extreme cases).

At any rate, your diet strategy sounds solid, tough it out and keep going.

You might look to see if you are actually eating enough. You might also look into your diet and eliminate all the energy zapping elements like diet sodas and as all of us know drink lots of water, water, water. If you are taking in lots of chemicals in your food versus all natural food without preservatives and chemicals, this too causes energy loss. Any type of luncheon meat has so many foreign chemicals that your body works overtime to figure these chemicals out and dispose of them. It is hard to find beef or chicken that are completely free from hormones or antibiotics, but it would be helpful if you are able to find them. As far as vitamins go, I would try to take in more antioxidants and B-complex vitamins. Do you think you might want to try a different thermogenic for a period of time. It is possible that your body may have developed an immunity to the Zenadrine. Just some words of hopeful wisdom. Hopes it helps.

How long have you been on this diet ? If it is in the beginning, it should get better. If you are going for the zero carb during the day bit, try to add in some orange juice in the morning and at lunch. Your insulin levels are trying to adjust to the new lack of carbs, the oj will help get through this. I would not cut your carb intake to only fruits, depending on what you are eating, ie the sugar content via fructose, this could be conter productive. Keep fruit to a bare minimum other than oj. Eat complex carbs after your workouts, ie potatoes, rice and pasta. And why are you dieting 5 months out ?

This isn't the cause of your energy levels but you should throw in some magnesium and selinium along with your viatamins. Definitly couldn't hurt.

Check your calorie intake, and see how much you dropped, you diet sounds very similar to what Im on now, but I use almost all complex carbs. The thing is I load most of them in the morning, and my last serving is just after 1pm. Try shortinging your workout a bit, to reserve energy and keep your body from burning protein.
Make sure to stay as heavy as you can while lifting, if you dont its like telling your body that you really dont need that muscle and its ok to burn it for fuel. Other than that it will get better, and dont forget to have atleast one cheat day a week, trust me it wont smooth you out and you will feel alot better because of it.

Just think about how ripped you are gonna be. and how good it is gonna feel when you tear off you shirt and every girl stops and stares. It is the bomb. Good luck man, and remember that you dont get hungry while you are sleeping.
