I do not mean to sound materialistic, but does being a Vet pay well? Thanks.

I'm not sure I know what you mean? Do you mean an animal vet, board vet? Just curious cuz I don't get anything! Wish I did though!

Cubano, I am talking about an Animal Veterinarian. I was just wondering what the salary of a vet was.

Actually the schooling isn't to bad...My cousin is trying to get into vet school...He did his 4 yrs undergraduate majoring in Biology...Same classes as all pre med students, but vet school will only be 2 years instead of 4, at least thats how I understand it

Several of my buddies who couldn't get into
med school went vet, it requires substantially less chemistry, physics, and
biology classes....therefore they should
get paid less! I'll be damned if I have to
go through what feels like a lifetime of
school and not get rewarded at least a little
bit financially.

Vets can indeed make a very good living. Just as in all business, many factors are involved. Location is important and if you decide to specialize - have you seen them new pet health care plans people can buy now!?!

And then there is the supply side. Your vet shop can be very big in it's own right, selling everything needed for animals. Like dog chains, mineral licks, feed, clipers, and hundres of other things.
