Not that any of us will still be using
ASs in 5 years, hehe, but what do you bros
think is in store for the bodybuilders of
tomorrow? I don't know about you guys
but I keep waiting for something new to
develop - not that I don't have a genuine
fondness for sus, d-ball, eq, and all of
our other old friends.

I'd like to see the repeal of the Steroid law. Hopefully then we wouldn't have to worry about counterfeits and scumbags as much. Don't know. It would be nice to be able to go into the Pharmacy and buy all the shit you want and only travel 5 miles to do it!

gene therapy, more growth factors like igf pgf etc..., more accesory drugs like one that strengthen tendons, repair cartilage, and override the golgi tendon apparatus- that the thing that keeps you from using all the strength that your muscle really has to potect your muscles, tendons and ligaments. overriding the golgi tendon apparatus is what allows women to pick cars up off thier baby, husband, etc.
just a little side note

I would also hope that we see a repeal of all the laws that criminalize drugs use. over 50% of the people in prison are there for drug related offenses. make them legal and tax 'em.

BTW- it is so easy for women to get a prescription for steroids (birth control) and yet steroids are demonized even though in most civilized countries they are used for birth control. I guess the reason that it is easier for women to get steriods (birth control) is actually for sexist reasons. Its because we (as a male dominated society) want them to be responsible for birth control.

I agree with that to a certain extent, it would be nice to see the same kind of mass that we have now with the kind of asthetic look that the "old guard" had. I dont know if its possible but I think that huge, ripped, healthy bodybuilders would be a good direction for bodybuilding to go.

BTW- I think that one of the main problems that competitors have to day is that they all have GH belly- that is fucking sick ass shit, when you see them off to the side of the stage and their ripped to shreds pregnant looking belly is sticking out.

I think macro is right, in the next 50 years of so some third world country is going to genetically engineer some mamoth of a human.

I'm sure there will be lots of gene therapy and closely controlled cell replication. I think we'll see some absolute monsters, Guys who would make todays standards seem like nothing. I'm sure 400-500 lb monsters will be seen

Can't wait to be one

I agree with macro about the GH bellies. It is ridiculus. The biggest one out there has got to be Jean Piere Fux. He is big, but come on, what is up with the belly. Hey, can't he get a tummy tuck???? That body type is no winner!!!

Old school will always rule, guys today don't have the balance those guys had.

I have been reading about man made virii that can be beneficial for patients undergoing chemotherapy to help them keep weight on. I'm sure gene therapy will come into play in the four to five years, but at a nasty cost. I'd like to see some focus on development of better ASs in general though.

But until the steroid law is revoked, I doubt much will happen with better ASs being developed.

I think bodybuilding is going to need some people to do something. Third world countries are doing this crazy gene splicing shit, and they will produce some freak of a human, and because there will be no god given genetics.."speed/precision/coordination/" involved with bodybuilding, unlike other sports, bodybuilding may turn out to be the future for these scientists to prove they can create the best Frankenstein, I mean human. Can you see it, just like horses...Competitor #6 Mr. Macho Grande, owner Dr. KooKu. I think someone is going tohave to come along and become as popualr as Arnold, but with the attitude about drugs these days, I dont know if it will happen. I hope it does though.

The bad thing is, the crack users, and black tar heroin injectors would start to argue the same thing. Government wants control. Shit, man... they can decide whether we taxpayers give 'em a raise every year whether we want to or not. I don't see them legalizing AS at all in my lifetime. So instead of getting clean AS from an American pharmacy, with quality control that taxed by the government to make everyone happy, I'll just risk injecting pipe cleaner into my ass from some rip off artist in Tijuana. Because the government knows it's doing it's part to keep me safe and healthy, right?

THE BAD THING ABOUT CRACK AND HEROINE USERS IS THAT THEY KILL AND STEAL TO GET THERE DRUGS, BUT A.S. USERS DON'T. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME ANYONE HEARD ON THE NEWS ABOUT AN A.S. USER KILLING OR KNOCKING OFF SOME STORE TO GET HIS JUICE. THEY SHOULD LEGALIZE A.S., HE OR SHE WILL NOT HURT NO ONE EXCEPT THEMSELF IF THEY ABUSE IT THE WRONG WAY. WITH THE EXCEPTION SOME HALO HEAD GOING ON A BAD RAGE AND KICKS SOME ASS, THAT WILL PROBABLY BE IT AND ITS ALL OVER.

Genetics is a rapidly developing science. This will be the future of bodybuilding, and the future of medicine as well.

Recently, scientists at Smith Kline Beecham discovered a gene which inhibits growth of central nervous system tissue - preventing spinal cord injuries from healing.

They did a test on rats in which the rats' spinal cords were severed and they were paralyzed. The rats were then given a drug which blocked the function of the gene, and their spinal cords grew together again. THEY RESUMED NORMAL ACTIVITY WITHIN TWO WEEKS. While that isn't directly related to bodybuilding, think of the implications of genetics, and the drugs that could be produced.

As far as engineering a type of human, there is a human cloning project underway in the Bahamas, with 80 million in private funding.

There are pretty much no limits to the potetnial of this. Overriding the Golgi tendon apparatus, probably is forthcoming.
Stronger joints, the elimination of rotator cuff injuries - among others, may not be that far away...

Gear with no sides - also a possibility.

There were a lot of intelligent answers on this post - so much for the myth that big = dumb.

BTW - Regarding gear becoming legal...it would be nice, and it may happen as pharmaceutical companies see that testosterne therapy is helpful in treating some illnesses - there is actually a good article on this at www.brinkzone.com (Will Brink from MuscleMag).

But I think in the future there will be drugs that inhibit or increase the function of genes so as to do pretty much whatever we want them to, and traditional gear will fade away.

I know it sounds hard to believe but the progress is happeneing so fast...shoudl be fun to watch.

Later,

Matt

I think within the next 10 to 15 years we'll see alot of AS become more available legally. The baby-boom generation(of wich I'm a member) is getting older and doing it's best to keep from suffering the associated side effects. But only so much can be done with clean eating, working out and supp's. The next level is a strong cry from my generation for the legal AS used in an intelligent mannor. I think that these HGH clinics popping up all over the place is just the begging. Just my thoughts.

Im still young, so i see me in the future.
I'll be messin around in chemistry one day and POW! I'll have the greatest steroid ever known to man. I'll take it and become the best football player to ever live. Then 5
minutes later I will die of liver failure
or cardiac arrest or something. But those five minutes are gonna kick ass!
