Yup. WWF is putting this on. Its thier own Football legue. They want to play ANY pro team sometime next year. Yeah right, put the worst team on the field and WWF still wouldnt do sh!t. Its not all players. Its coaching, conditioning.............. Let me see, TripleH vs John Randle............. -Guru IP: Logged |

This is Vince McMahon's baby. I see it as a publicity stunt that will never come to fruition.
1. A turd in a punchbowl 2. A fart in a spacesuit WWF wrestlers with football experience that I know of: 1. The Rock (played for Miami, FL) 2. Stone Cold (North Texas St.) Tray Renfro put your shoes on! Later IP: Logged |

i doubt the wrestlers have the speed to be football players. they are probably too drugged out. Paul Dillett can't walk 10 feet without running out of breath, and i think he is becoming a pro wrestler. IP: Logged |

From what I have heard about the XFL, it is going to be a serious attempt at a new league, that will be similar to the NFL but with less rules. My concern is that if it is not staged like wrestling, but has less rules than the NFL we are going to see some players with some short careers(because of cripling injuries). I guess we will all see what its all about next year! IP: Logged |

i've gotta say vince is a pretty smart guy. He always has something up his sleeve. The thing i'm impressed with is how he keeps everyone in line. I mean think about it how many times have you heard a wreslter getting arrested for drunk driving weed or whatever in comparison to the nfl or nba. IP: Logged |

Yup, I agree fellah's, pure money maker and should not be takin like the NFL or AFL. This is tom foolery stuff, like WWF and will be played when the reall leagues stop for the season, sounds like a no holds bared type of deal, not a team game more like focusing on individuality, <sp>. Anyway should be about as entertaining as WWF IP: Logged |

NateDogg03, Wrestlers get in plenty of trouble all the time. DDP has been busted for cocaine. The Iron Sheik did a few years for coke as well. Jake the Snake - you guessed it - coke but also drunk driving. Same for "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. (DWI anyway) There are a few more as well. Did someone forget that in the early 90's the league almost went in the shitter because of widespread steroid distribution, and Vince McMahon turned his back on Hulk Hogan - the guy who pretty much caried the league for like 15 years. That was when the WCW became popular and guys like Hulk and Macho Man Savage went to the WCW. There are about 360 players in the NBA. There are 2500+ in the NFL, including practice sqauds and such. So it only seems as if they are getting busted much more. This is aided by the greater news coverage given to mainstream sports. Rae Carruth and Ray Lewis didn't help either. If you want to read an excellent book on NFL criminals, check out "Pros & Cons". Very thorough. See ya, Matt IP: Logged |

what i like is that the players get insentives to win so you dont get some guy getting 2 mill regaurdless if he gets mvp or his ass crushed every play, incentives are good plus it will be football with an attitude or as the saying goes "football on steroids" i think it is a great idea cause it is not competing with the nfl just like the nba and hockey and like vince said those are not suitable replacements IP: Logged |
