I hope all of us are mature enough to know that there is no good smelling fart but sometimes I gas alot and smells very VERY FAUL. I mean, it's worse than a paint peeler. I suspect this happens when i mix too much protein powder with my shake. Has this happened to you? Any one want to share their experience or comment on what might be the underlying cause...

I'll tell ya what happens to me. After I work out I slug back a high protein shake. Usually 42 g each shake....thats cuz currently I'm using myoplex deluxe...but if you drink it too fast you get bad ass farts. I mean I can clear out a whole fuckin room man! Sometimes creatine on an empty stomach gives me killer gas too. I think its pretty much if you drink protein too fast you'll have farts for a good 2 hours.

This is how it works, guys: Your body can only absorb so much protein per serving (usually about 40-50g). The rest goes through into the small intestine where it basically decomposes (goes rotten). As for the creatine - taking in any form of caffeine an hour before or after a serving of creatine prevents it from being absorbed properly, and the same thing happens...

I'll have to aggree with you Rohan. This morning while I was preparing my shake I think I added more protein than my body can process in one serving (4 scoops of whey) 2 raw eggs, 14oz. milk.) That came close to 60 grams of protein. I read on some book that your body can process upto 30-40 grams of protein per serving, depending on your size. The rest becomes expensive, ummm, gas and ... you know what I mean.

read in my anatomy book that your body can only use 19% of your total proteing intake...so if you use 300-500 grams of protein a day, you can only use the 100-15- grams being absorded by your body...is this true??

I know exactly what you guys are talking about!! I can easily clear away my workout partners in the gym. Hell, one time I farted walking up to the gym doors(let it go about 20 feet before doors) and right when I stopped to open the door some chick walks out and the smell caught up with me and passed me up.Ha,Ha,Ha, probably liked to kill that poor ckick cause it stunk like some nasty as shit!!!!ha,ha,ha can't stop laughing about it.

LOL....LOL...LOL...you guys are fucking gross man, but I know where your coming from, I go through it alot. Too much protein , but I dont take in any more than 46g at a time, usualy 30. I just call them high protein farts,...do like I do and tell your friends that if they stand behind you when you let one loose, theyll get massive muscle gains from the pure concentration.......LOL....Damn.....

well, instead of concentrating on sick stories, here are some helpers... try digestive enzymes... papaya will help a little but your better off with a multi enzyme capsule... also, chlorophyll will help as will activated charcoal for the smell.
