I am starting my first cycle on monday. I am currently working my biceps once a week with my back. I have plenty of soreness with my other body parts, however with my biceps, the soreness is usually gone in a day. I am hitting them hard and heavy, but there is no soreness. While on a cycle would you up that to 2 times a week, because of the faster recouperation? And what will be the best for optimal growth? BTW- my 1st cycle is a dbol/sust/deca cycle.

bro-i sincerely believe in doin biceps twice a week, espescialy while on.the bottom line is this has been argued for years as with other body parts.so do what your body tells you to do-it cant hurt to try it and you may be happy with what comes of it!thnx-mightyjoe

You will be happy to know that your Bicep is the fastest recovering muscle in your body. Twice a week should be no problem. All they really need is a good 24 hours to recover. Heavy weight will add tons of mass, good luck,

I find it hard to get very sore in my biceps as well, however, I think that is becasue we use them a bit more than upper body parts, and maybe they are just more adept to recuperation.

Try a HIT routine on them for about a month. Also, you might try training arms on the same day, starting with triceps, the pump is absolutely incredible, at least for me and my partner.

Good lluck Bro

Damn guys twice i week??? I couldn't handle that, i only train my bi's once a week and for an absolute max of 9 sets, usually six. If i go any more they won't grow at all.

Side note, when going heavy on bi's be very careful or you will damage the tendons on the inside of the elbow. I did that from years of heavy lifting, curling upwards of 225lbf on the barbell curl, and 90's for dumbells. consequently without allowing for proper recuperation and down time, I had to have surgery to scrape the scar tissue of my tendons.

Let me tell you what, I almost would rather have been shot than go through that recovery. So be careful and take your time you'll grow.

The problem with building muscle is that there is no one set way to get results that works for everyone.

I find my entire body responds best if I hit a single muscle group once in the morning and a different muscle group in the evening.
But I only hit a muscle once per week. I do about 45 minutes of bi's on Monday, 45 minutes of forearms that evening and so forth until I've hit each muscle once in that week.

But then I know guys who get great results from doing a full body workout each day.

Arghhhhhh!!!!! My tendon in my bicep is torn and healing slow.....no shit, I had to take two weeks off, and prolly should ahve taken more, but couldnt hang being out sooo long.
It still hurts, but have found warming up with something light helps the pain, oh and lots of stretching. When on a cycle your Bi's can hang with twice a week.

And thats the Bottom line.....

i found that training tri's and bi's the same workout was the most effective for me. everyones body adapts differently. try changing up routines very often to hit the muscle differrently. try peak contraction for bi's its one hell of a pump and safer on the tendons

It is a high intensity training routine. HIt. You basically are doing one or two sets per exercise real slow for 8-12 reps. There is a description of it on the elite fintess page can't remember the link though. Do a quick search and you should find it. I also described it earlier in the week.

I would strongly suggest doing biceps on there own day, this means a solid 45 minutes of bicep work, and if you would still prefer to do them on back also go ahead, your bi's will recuperate quickly(24 hrs). Do biceps on a seperate day and concentrate on exercises that you can really feel your bi's working, heavy weight is not always necessary. some great exercises for bi's that really make them ache the next day are Dumbell preacher curls, ez curl or barbell preacher curls, isolation machines such as hammer strength and atlantis. Find a good magazine that shows you ronnie colemans bi workout, he will give good advice and does bi's twice a week!

What really matters is how many sets are you doing for your BACK? How many for your BIs.If you are doing 20sets for back 20 sure as hell arn't neccessary for bis.I wouldn't let the total of back+ bis=more than 20.Less is usually more when it comes to bicep training.

sounds like the bis have gotten smart and you need to change the routine some. not a lot is necessary to restart the growth. hit them from different angles and try a longer break between bi wkouts-the explosive pump should return!
