What has everybody been hearing about heart disease and 'roid use? I have read several things from doctors about enlarged venticles and bad valves but the docs have lied before! IP: Logged |

It is true about the heart issue. My uncle who was a pro bodybuilder and Mr Univers over 40 about 20 years ago has had severe heart problems the past 10 years from his bodybuilding experience. While a lot of has to do with the high cholesterol intake from eggs and other things , steroids will make your heart bigger, cause your heart is a muscle. Just be carefull and dont abuse them. Just a note on information collected on steroids. Since steroids in the US are illegal most of the data collected or purported regarding steroids is anectdotal or theoretical. Not that there have been no studies, but often times data can be presented in a manner that would/could further propagate misunderstandings. But logic would dictate, since the heart is a muscle it would stand to grow during a cycle, and its very possible that the valves do not grow at the same rate resulting in a "loose fit". If you suspect heart troubles from some of the more common symptoms, light headedness, shortness of breath or heart palpitations you can always request an EKG. IP: Logged |

Striated muscle and Cardiac muscle are different types of muscles, so would they react the same way and at the same rate? I would be interested in hearing some medical research, remember other countries do medical research also. DreamingBig IP: Logged |
