Hey, i posted a message about using DECA and I got alot of negative feedback regarding my age. I want to be a Navy SEAL and have enlisted in the SEAL challenge program and expect orders to report to training after boot in August. If I shouldn't get some gear, what should I use, because I hear that alot of people are juicing at BUD/S (SEAL training)? I train my ass off, but come on, that shit is near impossible! Thanks in advance, Bros! IP: Logged |

It's your first cycle, keep it simple. Test is best, sus is better. You should be gaining really good naturally due to your age, but I won't preach becuase you will do it anyway. 300 ------------------ IP: Logged |

This does change my perspective with regard to your situation. Ideally you want to gain as much weight as possible without hurting your endurance and run time to much before going to a school like BUDS. almost every special forces guy that I know has used juice or uses it- it seems to go with the territory- I guess you can compare SPEC.FOR. as being the elite atheletes of the military- though this is a rather broad generalization. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: BTW-they were on cycle before they left too. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Ranger is right with all the endurance training. I was in the nav for 4 years. Never went through seal training or anything like that, but running, swimming and endless calisthenics. Also your last week will be "HELL WEEK." I don't know all the details, but you are doing training the entire week practically 24 hrs a day. If you are lucky enough to make it to hell week, this is where the "do or die" comes in. Alot of guys won't make it during this week. If you want to be a seal, you must make it and not quit. As far as a cycle, well I would wait until after this. You don't want to gain much weight cause then you may be too heavy for all the endurance training. You really don't want a bulk or mass steroid. You would want a strength/endurance. Maybe something like Anavar. Also I don't know what BUDS tests for, but probably only Narcotics. I was worried about taking juice while in the nav, but didn't learn until later that they only test for Narcotics and not steroids. Testing for steroids is different than Narcotics. It is a specific test that tests epitestosterone to testosterone and is expensive. Hope I helped a little. Keep training and good luck with BUDS!! IP: Logged |

Guys I know that juiced in boot grew zits that you cannot imagine. I'm talking permanant scars. Steroids and no showers don't mix. My advice, it's more mental than physical. I know a 140 pound weakling that made it through BUDS. I also know a 220 pound genetic marvel that could'nt make it. It's will, not skill. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Mr. T. You my friend are exactly right!!! Being a part of the Special Operations community, and a life time member...you hit the nail on the head!!! It's all about endurance and the mental drive to accomplish every daily goal. Gear would do you no good at all. You will recieve if lucky, one meal a day....and rest is for quitters. You don't want to be carrying any extra baggage......besides, if I'm not correct, you've already posted once saying your 18 <wink>!! Too young my man.....My advice....accomplish one goal at a time.....during BUDS all you'll be thinking about anyway is food and sleep!!! Ranger " Sua Sponte " IP: Logged |

Don't go on the suace for BUD/S. Nothing you can swallow or inject will help you fight for air during waterproofing and you need to be calm and focused, not hyped. Picture this, you and your swim buddy in the pool in Coronado, sharing a snorkel, no mask, no fins, in your gear. You both must stay submerged for 20 min while one nasty mother fucker DI is doing his best to drown you by pouring buckets of water down that snorkel. If any of you experts can tell me what steroid will help with this, I wish I'd known you 12 years ago. Here is a little bit of advice I can give you on the topic however. Buy the best suit of long underwear you can afford. Silk will hold up the best and it will help keep equipment straps from digging into you. Pour a couple of capfulls of olive oil in your boots before wet hikes and runs to minimize the blisters and keep a big stash of candy bars where you can get them. You will need calories anywhere you can find them. Most of us lost 15 pounds during hell week. That was the advice givin to me from an awsome Yob from the SAS, no shit. and lastly I will give you the key to SpecWar; ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well, to address the original question. I wouldn't juice at all for BUDs. I have been through RIP and ranger school as well and I can't imagine finding the time to inject or hide tabs. Next up, is Slappy's comment. Talk like that will get you bitch slapped by some of the biggest guys around, who not only train to kill but generally train for size in their free time. But seriously, stay off the juice until you clear BUDs and move on to EOD training or something. IP: Logged |

SEAL guy, I went through pretty much all the same training as "The Ranger" and the sauce ain't gonna do it for you. What no one on this board has mentioned, though I am sure the Ranger knows it (all Rangers know it, don't we?!) is that yes you have to be in great shape for BUDS, but as far as Hell Week goes, that is where they try to break your MIND and your SPIRIT. So go there in the best shape you can, though at BUDS they will PT your ass off for a few weeks up to Hell Week. But of you are still looking for something to TAKE, try this, Take stock of how badly you want it. If you don't really, really want it, don't even go. Save the taxpayers a few bucks and stay home. But if you do, and you'll never quit, then no chemical will do more for you than that desire. Good luck Matt IP: Logged |

Scourge....if you want to start flaming people, let's do it. First of all, I trained with SEALS while I was stationed at Ft. Lewis. SEALS would come to train with the Rangers once in awhile, and I wasn't impressed AT ALL with them. It sounds like you like to talk a lot of shit over the computer, like a typical pussy. I responded to the original question to give the guy an inside opinion of SEALS. They are not all they are portrayed to be on TV, and aren't even considered to be one of the best special ops units in the military today. I bet the closest you've come to any military training is shopping at the Salvation Army for your mom. Sorry, guys, I just get a little pissed when dumbasses pop off about shit they know nothing about. IP: Logged |

MAKE SURE YOU GET A SOURCE RATING AND THE LONGER THE SCHOOL THE MORE TIME TO TRAIN. THEY HAVE PROGRAMS SET UP FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE DOING SPECIAL PROGRAMS. ITS ALL IN YOUR MIND. From experience I would not ever juice while in the seals or any combat job. I was in the MARINES for five years and let me tell you if you can't do it on your own all the juice in the world ain't gonna save your ass or your buddy's. As far as SEALS being skinny, some of them dudes look like walking redwoods. I have a brother who went through RIP school in the MARINES it damned near killed him. And that was the first part, the next school was Force Recon. Which makes buds look like a day at the beach. Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for Navy Seals they are one tough ass group. Pont is forget the juice, you can't get it on the battlefield so don't rely on it in training. Chesty IP: Logged |

No flame intended....but.....we need to clear up a few things on this post. First, Anyone who is willing to fight and die to preserve the very blanket of freedom, under which we sleep each night is not a pussy....NO MATTER what you did in the armed services. Slappy, as far as the SEALS not being one of the best...WELL, I beg to differ. 25 Oct. 1983(Operation Urgent Fury Grenada) Four SEALS gave their lives to rescue 26 medical students from the St. Georges Medical Facility that day. Some are skinny, yes, but those skinny Bastards are the runningest SOB's I've ever seen....the other's are big, and could Hump a piano for miles without a break. And as I said....they are kick ass in every sense of the word(ask about Team 6). No flame intended. But, if you weren't apart of SOCOM or JSOC...I doub't very seriously you trained with the SEALS or Rangers for that matter, unless you washed their clothes for them. Chesty, RIP stands for the Ranger Indoctrination Program, similar to BUDS(Basic Underwater Demo. School). If your brother was in the Marines, he didn't go through RIP, unless he became a Ranger in one of three Batt's. Yes, my darling's there are only give or take 1500 Ranger's in the world on active duty at one time. I have the utmost respect for Marines, and I went through Scout Sniper School, and Instructor school where Gun. Sgt. C. Hathcock was an Instructor. BUDS is no day at the beach, and never will be!!! I went through Scout Swimmer School off Tybee Island with Force Rec. EXCELLENT DUDES!!! So my Bro's, in closing, any Special Operations Group carries within itself an esprit de corps that will not fade from the soul....if you are ..... you are!! If you ain't....WELL, we can't all be bad ass muther-fuckers!!! Oh Yeah! Tom Byron....I can kill a man 100 different ways!!! You really want to know??? PICK A NUMBER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha! Ha! TheRanger is right: no one who wears the uniform is a pussy, even if they are a cook or a freakin clerk somewhere...it doesn't matter. You don't need a black beret or a trident to be hard. It comes from within. Four SEALs also gave their lives in Panama...there's nothing pussy about that - same goes to the 18 Rangers and two Delta Force guys who died in Somalia. There were two SEALs in my Ranger school class - both officers, both tough as nails, and very professional. I was proud to graduate with them. Just to clear up, thre are now 2300 Rangers, approx. I was on 75th Regt staff and came across info like that. Marauder: 1 part quest for adventure = grad of any school Good luck Matt IP: Logged |

Ranger....I'm not going to try and impress everyone here by spouting off my military career, but I will say this...I DID train with SEALS on several occassions while at Ft. Lewis. I wasn't trying to trash all SEALS, just the ones I trained with. Like I said before, I wasn't impressed with them AT ALL, and anyone who says they aren't overrated obviously never trained with them. Sure, they can swim like fish, but get them in a ground exercise (jungle, desert, etc.), and they are just out of their eliment. You can hear those guys coming a mile away, crashing through the bushes and shit. Secondly, I don't consider myself a very big guy (5'11" 233), but I was WAY bigger than any of the members of that SEAL team, and had 1/3 of the attitude. Now I can understand the attitude if they did't sound like a herd of elephants coming through the bush, but they did. They are a water specialty unit, period. And they are great in the water, but in a land operation they're just mediocre. BTW, this wasn't a flame, just one guy's opinion. IP: Logged |

I don't know what Rip stands for in the Marines, but I do know any type of ranger training is nothing compared to what the Marines doespecially in Recon/Force Recon. I spent five years in the Marines. My brother also has his scuba bubble, gold and silver jump wings, went to school with Hathcocks son and gaurded the president. I also spent a year with the army and was not impressed in the least. I have respect for two special ops teams. Recon/Force Recon and Seals. I did not make it to the infantry supposedly my asvab score was to high and the field was closed. As for juice, don't train with it, you can't get it in combat and if you rely on it in training you will fuck yourself in combat. All who serve are good in my book. But my bias is with my family the Marine Corps. So it is with other people and the service they served in. Semper Fi! IP: Logged |
