How would you guys train your calfs withought the use of machines or withouht the help of a partner to do, for example donkey raises. Ive tried various forms but, the problem isI usualy worked them out at the leg press machine but its been six months now since I could do the whole set of plates. For the moment Im trying to get my reps higher... ...Just one more thing; do any of you guys train your soleus muscles?????

For calves, I sometimes shake things up by doing them with free weights. Put a plate (or something that's a little elevated) on the floor in front of you. Then load up the squat bar and do standing calve raises with the balls of your feet on the plate (or board). No machine necessary. The extra work you do balancing yourself makes you work your calves in a different way. Try it. IMHO, if your calves are inhumanly strong and not inhumanly big... ain't nothing gonna help short of inplants. With calves, either you got 'em or you don't. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I use a "free weight" belt alot...u know, the weight belt that has the chain that u can load plates onto......and I find some steps and go to town... Hell, you can buy one for yourself at a very cheap price and I've found a few other uses as well, such as "weighted dips"...I love it... IP: Logged |
