There was a couple of questions on the board before we switched pertaining to whether or not to taper dosage at the end of a cycle. I have moved to the advocate of no tapering. Some will say they do it to let there body's own natural hormones to kick back in. First of all it doesnt take an extrmely large amount of test to depress your own production. So waht does it matter if you are being shut down by the 400mg you tapered down to, or the 800mg you were at. Bottom line you are in the same boat. Except while maintaining the higher dosage you can continue to maintain a level to produce growth. I know when I would go on the downside of a pyramid the gains would be minimal if any. On a maintained dosage you can still get good results out of the usually wasted last few weeks. Finally, the drug's half life determines how long it will be in the system. So if a drugs half life is 48 hours that means that in 48 hours half the drug would be out of the system. So in 72 hours more of the drug would be out of the system, and in 96 it would be out. So I think this makes all drugs self tapering. In other words you wouldnt go from a high level of test in your system to all of the sudden none by stopping administration of the drug. It would still clear the system at a certain pace(depending on the drug) until ultimately out of the body. Any thoughts or comments?

It's true that drugs all have a half life but if you're taking 800mg of a test lets say and it has a half life of a week lets say so in one week you have 400 mg of test in your system and them in two weeks you have 200 and in three you have 100 etc etc....

To reinitialize your natural test production there has to be less test in your system then your body would normally create, and this is what we really wanna do after a cycle.

If you taper at the end of your cycle then you're decreasing the amount of test you still have in your body, remember you still have all that test you took from the previous weeks. So let's say i was taking 800 mg a week for 10 weeks, god this is going to be a long post, and the test has a half life of 1 week, ok.

so at week 10, right, after my last injection i have 1550 mg of test in my system, using a half life of a week , so i'm still seeing effect from week 6.

If i tapered down at the end, say from week 6 to week 10 i decreased 100 mg a week so

6 800
7 600
8 400
9 300
10 100

Then at week 10 right after my last injection i have 475 mg test in my system as i still see effects from week 6.

So now i forget what natural test levels are but not it takes

Remaining test levels

Week Tapered Non Tapered
10 475 1550
11 237 775
12 118 387
13 59 194
14 29 97

Now at the end of each cycle this is we take HCG for two weeks in order to mimic leutenizing hormone, to trick our bodies, and try and mimic our natural test, then we take somthing like clomid, for the next two weeks to try and reinitialize out natural test production.

So at week 14 on the tapering cycle our remaining test levels are below natural production levels and with the clomid helping you along in the 13 and 14 your natural test production will kick back in. In the non tapering cycle you're still above natural test levels, so even with the clomid your body may have a hard time reinitializing itself, and i've found that it's this not being able to reinitialize your natural test that make people lose a lot of their muscle gains in the following weeks.

What do you guys think about this??

Interesting argument. So does your own test production stop completely after a certain dosage or does it vary with the dosage you are taking? If you are right, and your test production stops completely beyond some low dosage, say 200mg. Then you could take the same high dosage you started with for the entire cycle. Anyone else have a comment?

Charlieman i dont think you understood what i was trying to say, maybe i was not clear. Your body tries to maintain homeostasis, in all things, just like your body regulates your temperature it regulates your hormones, it's a little more complicated but it's a reasonable comparison. Your body does stop producing testosterone once the levels have gone above natural levels. Mind you it's not immediate but it happens.

Taking the same high dose of steroids at the beginning as i said results in half lives which stay in your body long after you've finished your cycle and they may result in your body not restarting your own test production, that's why i was advocating tapering at the end of a cycle and if you read the post on time between cycles, the post that george put up also seems to see a benefit to tapering at the end.

I'm totally with kpumpkin here. If your body has excess androgens (any amount!) it will depress natural test production. If you're going to shut down your balls, you may as well do it with a high enough dose of roids so that you can grow.

Try a flat dose cycle (same dose the whole way) with the more androgenic stuff at the beginning and then the less androgenic stuff at the end. Follow up w/ HCG and tribulus to get your balls going again.

Youre basically wasting money when you taper. Either take enoguh to grow or get off the sauce and let your body get back to normal.

My 2 cents.
