I think i need to start taking augmentin just incase my tricep is infected. I use to be on it a while back for an infection and it took care of it, i thought I had a refill on it but I can't find it. I hate to go to the doc and pay just to get another roid lecture and a prescription.. is there anyway i can get augmentin without a prescription?

Augmentin is the same type of drug as pennicillin or amoxicillan. Know anyone with strep throat recently?

Augmentin is amoxicillin\clavulanate potassium... Pretty expensive anti-biotic if Im not mistaken...Go to one of those quick care places and tell them the truth... Or go there and tell them that you get about 5 ear infections a year and you are getting one right now..tell them that your normal doc is on vacation but he always prescribes you augmentin..the 875 and it always takes care of it.. When the doc looks in your ear and says it looks ok..tell him that your ear is beginning to feel "full" and you know its an ear infections... good luck

you need a prescription for it. It's the most powerful antibiotic out there right now i believe. Good luck!

wrong, augmentin is to fight infection of tissue, penicillin or amoxycillin will not work

If you have an infection from an injection, I'd go see a doc right away. Augmentin may not be strong enough, you may need an injectable like Rocephin. You really need to be careful that the infection doesn't go systemic.
