For all u competitors out there...Have u ever had the experience of looking twice as good the day after you show?U know,the show is over and u eat an entire pizza and a box of doughnuts and the next morning u are more vascular,fuller,and bigger than the day b4.If so,have u ever had the nerve to pig out the night b4 the show?I'd love some input on this.Thanks to anyone who took the time to reply. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

You said it yourself in your statement...You're fuller after the pig out. Months of dieting takes and extreme toll on the body. It drains it. Your muscles are drained by the end of a diet. They are flat due to the induced malnourishment of dieting. Add in glycogen depletion from cardio and weight training and you will be flat. When you pig out after starvation your body is in a state of need. It is super sensitive to the food energy you feed it. It has the ability to convert lage amounts of carbohydrate and even fat into badly needed glucose and stored in the dry starved muscles as glycogen. I think every gram of glycogen is accompanied by 4 grams of water. Thus your muscles fill out. Super compensation if you will from the hell you have been putting your bnody through. This is why you should carb up prior to a show. To fill the muscles up and give them a fuller look. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Thanks for the input beezer!Yes, I always carb up b4 a show,but w/ "clean" carbs.I have always been tempted to eat real junk food the night b4(pizza,burgers,cookies,etc.).Of course, I'm always afraid to hold water,so I stick to the usual carbs.However,after the show almost everyone comepletely lets loose and looks awesome the next day!I was wondering if anyone had the nerve to pig out the day b4 and if so,how did it go.Thanks again! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I have done 3 shows, all of which were on Saturday (with pre-judging around 10-11 a.m. and the night show around 6-7 p.m.)... For show #1, I "carbed up" on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!! I was "full," but bloated...all I took was a few Taraxatone for the last 3 days...counterproductive since I was eating all those carbs anyway...STRIKE ONE! For show #2, I carbed up just on Friday and Saturday, took Taraxatone the same way...I was not as bloated, but didn't get as lean for this show anyway...STRIKE TWO! For show #3, I went almost ZERO-CARBS Sunday-Tuesday, then carbed up on Wednesday and Thursday, then cut back to fat/protein (after weigh-in Friday morning!) on Friday and didn't eat much (munched on some rice cakes and Pixi Stix) on Saturday...I also switched to almost all distilled water starting one week before, and took twice the recommended dosage of Taraxatone every day for the last 10 days...I got down to 3& bodyfat so you could tell I was dry as a bone...A DOUBLE I GUESS... MY GOAL FOR MY NEXT SHOW, MY FIRST NPC SHOW...A HOME-F*CKING-RUN! Now that I'm on gear, I won't lose as much muscle, I'll use Lasix the last few days, and I'll use the "middle of the week" carb up plan again...HOWEVER, I will be eating some McDonald's fries about an hour before pre-judging this time...the sodium you take in the night after" has as much to do with increased vascularity and fullness as the carbs do...don't "shovel" down junk food, 'cause you don't want your stomach to "pooch out like you're on GH, but eat some cheat food... I know many people who have entered contests and looked much better1-2 days after! I feel that without fail this is due to the diet mentality(I have been dieting for 12 weeks and I can't eat this much before the contest or i will blow it) after the contest this mind set is eased and they eat better and blow up ...become very vascular and wish they had listen to my constructive critiziumThat "HEY DUDE >>>YOU LOOK FLAT >>>EAT!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
