I had shoulder surgery on Tuesday. I had a condition called clavicle osteolysis and the surgeon had to go in and remove 1/4 inch off the end of my collar bone. My understanding is that my collar bone and shoulder joint were too crowded, causing a painful rubbing sensation. Have any of you had this surgery? How long was it before you were back to training? How long before you were using pre-surgery weights?

Actually, it happened right after a really good mass cycle for me. I gained 25 lbs. and a great deal of strength. I didn't want to lose the strength so I bridged with 40mg/day of Anavar. I lost all the water and lubrication from the mass cycle but kept the strength due to the Anavar. I think this was a major contributing factor. The doctor said that everybody he has every performed this surgery on was either a football player or a weightlifter. He said that it is caused by repetitive movements with heavy weights. I figured there'd be a number of guys on this board who have had this surgery. There are two other guys in my gym alone who have had it. Their recovery times were quite different so I figured I'd fish around for others who have had it.

depends on what your doc says, these things are very delicate, but i dont see why you shoudnt be able to train biceps and tris, or calves, once a few weeks have passed(pain gone away), then start with light shoulder workouts,,when your doc gives green lights. |
