burn boy, i agree with you but if everybody did that I think this board would come to a stop, because as someone allready pointed out every question has been asked allready. in fact when I first found this board I did'nt post for several month's nor did I bother to use the seach feature, I could learn alot just by reading reading the daily posted questions and answers, if nobody had posted these question's I would not have been able to do that, right?

Just using the search would turn the board into a library. There is a wealth of information there and I agree people should use it first to learn more about what it is they are asking. That way if newbies to the board searched and read prior posts they would be asking their questions with a foundation of knowledge allowing them to pose a more intellegent question to the board. Hate to bump something like this, but since my reply will do just that, I have no choice. This is a discussion board, the purpose of which is to discuss. It is not (by design) a non-interactive repository of data. In fact, using the search feature usually just turns up dumbass answers like, "Do a search." If you don't want to discuss whether or not you can drink winny, don't reply. See that's the beauty of free will. | ||

why don't you try to start this topic all over again or you can just research this topic and the end result will be the same thing. you can't stop someones question and if the same question is brought up refer them to the search, either way you can bring up the number of your posts. | ||

Do you know how easy it is to do a search for info? You guys say this is a discussion board right? Well most of the topics that people ask about have already been discussed by others. Do you guys ever wonder why the mods don't get involved much anymore? All I am saying is if you search for your question the right way, you'll find the answer you are looking for. If not, then do a post. Don't expect people to do you leg work for you. | ||

Bro, I know the shit gets repetitive. But so does seeing you bitch about search all the time. You should know by now that the search blows. I would advise anyone new to read the board for a week or so before posting and there question will probably be answered. I think some of these people just like seeing their handle | ||

REPOST from 1/29/01: It has been awhile since any basic Search tips have been communicated. Here are two simple things to help you be more productive and self-sufficient on the EF site. A. The link to the Search Help Facility. B. A step-by-step example of a productive archive search using adjacent words to narrow the focus. Note: By no means will I get into the details of proximity, search logic etc. as you can all read and practice (something I encourage you to do) at your convenience. A. URL (link) to the Webinator Search Help page: http://www.thunderstone.com/webinator/help25.html B. Example search: Let's assume you want to find specific information about ttokkyo anavar. Don't just hit Search and type the words ttokkyo anavar. Many bros unknowingly do this and limit hits to the active threads only. Also, you are using default paramaters (read the Help file for a better understanding of this) which do not limit the hits (i.e. many pages are returned). What you want to do is get accustomed to searching the archives with a more narrow query, for example: 1. Select Search Notice the difference in the following examples: If you search the archives on ttokkyo anavar right now (no quotation marks) you get the following: 1 through 10 of 75 matching documents If you search the archives on "ttokkyo anavar" right now (with quotation marks) you get the following: 1 through 10 of 16 matching documents. You went from 75 hits of any combination of the 2 words ttokkyo anavar to 16 hits of the specifc phrase ttokyo anavar by using the quotes. This demonstrates narrowing your search using adjacent words. Another example: "ttokkyo anavar" -mexico You would receive: 1 through 10 of 10 matching documents Because you further refined the search by using the '-'(minus). There's really no excuse not to do some of your own research. YOU HAVE A COMPUTER SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!! There is tons of FREE and easily accessable information on the net if you just look for it. There's really no excuse to ask such questions.."I have some test and deca how should I stack it", "How many mg are there in a cc?", and "When should I use clomid", and countless other easily answered questions if you just look for it... ------------------ |
