All genetics aside.....how much time do you think roids cut off trimming down bodyfat as opposed to a natural bodybuilder trying to trim down? Lomaximo

Alot. AS allows an individual to lower calories much lower than a natural individual. AS preserves muscle when you are in a negative energy balance. Now, remember, the more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn througout the day. If AS preserves muscle, and you have dramatically lowered your calories, the fat will come off much quicker. Natural individuals, on the other hand, will also have to lower calories. In response, your body (in it's natural state), sensing starvation, will kick into survival mode. Since muscle is very metabolically active, the body will strip that muscle off to preserve energy. Low calories combined with heavy cardio will cause the natural trainer to lose alot of muscle because there is nothing circulating in the blood to support it. All the chemicals released are designed to get rid of bodyweight, instead of preserving it. AS combats this. It keeps cortisol from canniblizing your muscle tissue. Hope this helps you out in your decision making process. -TG

I have to say that when dieting down with AS, the fat came off a little easier. But If dietary protien if kept high enough then you won't loss muscle. If you eat more than a gram per pound of body wieght, you should be OK. Example: If you weigh 180 lbs, then you should consume about 200-220 grams of protien per day. ------------------

Since I'm an ecto anyway, I tried cutting naturally 2 summers ago. High protein, paid a nutritionist to monitor me - the works. Never again. Ripped, but lost so much muscle it took a full year to get back to where I had been. I know it works for some people, but I'm just giving you personal experience. |
