I work out in the early mornings, so I usually have not eaten. I try to keep BF down by doing Cardio, before lifting, in the morning. It is best to do on a empty stomach.

I've heard it's not good to eat before you workout because your body has a hard time digesting while lifting, don't know if this is true, just heard this from an x-bodybuilder. Me personally I have to eat a little before I workout or else I'd have to cut my workouts short because I get so hungry. I have a raging appetite right now, and can't go a few hours without eating.

I agree with corleone for the most part. I like to eat half of a honey wheat bagel 30 or 45 mins before I workout, and then I eat the other half when I get back home...along with my protein shake. This always seems to do the trick for me.

My intensity is pretty high and anything solid makes me sick. I like this mix: 2 scoops of whey and 2 scoops of ultra fuel by Twinlab, comes out to be 35-50-0(p/c/f). The shack is taken 45-60 minutes before a balls to the wall workout, easy to digest and energy is ample.

COMMON MISCONCEPTION TO CONSUME TO MUCH SUGARS AND CARBS BEFORE A WORKOUT. I GET THE BEST RESPONSE DRINKING A SHAKE 1 HR. BEFORE WORKOUT.WITH A LIGHT AMOUNT OF CARBS. SOMETIMES I MIGHT SIP A CARB DRINK DURING MY WORKOUT.POST WORKOUT IS MORE IMPORTANT FOR SUGARS/CARBS. I USALLY TAKE 75G.S OR SO OF SIMPLE SUGARS AND 15 IUS OF HUMALOG POST WORKOUT. WORKS FOR ME.

I work out first thing in morning and I never could keep anything down until someone on the nutrition board recommended high fat cottage cheese. Now I'm hooked and feel a little stronger in my workout.

Try to eat at least 1-3 hours before training sessions. If you train any sooner your training will not be a 100%, because the blood in your body will be used for digesting the food as well as for your muscles in your workout.

monster is right. i try to give myself at least 2 hours after the meal before i work out. i once went to workout legs an hour after a meal and after a few nice squats I, along a few other patrons of my gym, saw a nice layout of what i ate on the gym floor beside the squat rack. it wasnt a pretty sight. once that came up, i had a wicked workout.
