I see people posting about gains and along with gains comes the fat. In my bulking cycles I too have gained fat, but with my next cyle I want to keep fat to a minimum. Is fat inevitable on a bulking cycle or is it just what you eat? If I clean up my diet can I avoid the fat or possibly lose some fat?? Next cycle is sust and EQ. In order to bulk, you need and excess of calories. When your body gets more calories than it can use, it stores it as fat. The only way to avoid more fat is to avoid sugar and too much saturated fat. Try to get most of your calories from protein and barbos (complex carbos, that is). You can minimize the fat gain by cleaning up your diet. Anytime you are taking in more energy than is required for maintenance and growth, you will gain some fat regardless of where those calories came from. The trick is to attempt to figure out exactly how much you need for growth and maintenance, without exceeding it too much. If you know your bodies metabolic needs and are precise with your diet you really shouldn't gain much fat if any at all. If you know your maintnance calories you can adjust accordingly to reach the equilibrium between lean body mass gain and fat gain. This means being spot on with your diet to ensure that you are getting the exact amount of calories you need...no more, no less. This means eating the same thing everyday and measuring and weighing all your food. Most people are far from willing to go through with this process so they eat whatever is in sight. They have no true control over thier calorie intake so they overeat. They go past the point at which that food energy is converted to lean body mass and start to store it as fat as they are over providing for thier metabolic needs. It can be a pain but you learn how to do it. You don't have to gain fat if you're willing to controll your diet with pin point precision. Most don't even do this while cutting let alone bulking but it makes a world of difference. If you can precisely determine what your body needs to loose, maintain, or gain weight then you are assured success. If you know the calorie level your body needs for gains in lean body mass while not going over that limit so you don't gain fat and have the will power to control you diet in such a manner then you should not gain fat while bulking. As far as finding out your maintenance level that is not too hard, but to figure out the exact amount of calories you need to gain maximum muscle without adding any fat I think is virtually impossible. Either eat only a moderate amount of calories over your maintenance level if your are that worried about fat, but this way you will not get the maximum amount of muscle you could have or eat like you should and gain as much muscle as you can and worry about the fat afterwards. Also could add T3 along the way and I agree, DIET is everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
