Does anyone use potassium salt instead of normal table salt, I do since it is sodium free. A friend told me that it is easy to get messed up with too much potassium, does anyone know anything about this?

40% OF YOUR BODIES CALORIES ARE USED POWERING THE SODIUM/POTASSIUM PUMPS IN THE MEMBRANES OF YOUR CELLS. YOUR ELECTROLYTE BALANCE IS DETERMINED BY HOW MUCH OF EACH OF THESE YOU HAVE. IT IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT TO SUPPLIMENT WITH POTASSIUM, AS MOST FOODS SUPLLY PLENTY OF SODIUM. A COMPLETELY SODIUM FREE DIET WILL KILL YOU, THOUGH. MOST PEOPLE WILL BENEFIT FROM ADDING POTASSIUM TO THEIR DIET IN REPLACEMENT OF SALT IN HOW THEIR IMMUNE SYSTEM FUNCTIONS, AND IN HOW MUCH WATER THEIR BODY RETAINS. THIS IS BECAUSE, AS ALREADY STATED, MOST FOODS SUPPLY YOUR BODY WITH PLENTY OF SODIUM. BUT, WHAT THE FUCK DO I KNOW...I'M JUST A FUCKING MEATHEAD.

I posted this when I first joined the board maybe it will help you.

I do a lot of research on nutrition, AS, supplements and so on. I found this Quite interesting especially for all you guys on high androgenic AS. THERE IS A SODIUM/ANABOLIC CONNECTION. First off Sodium does not cause hypertension, does not make you fat, thats all bullshit meadia crap. Many amino acids are transported by sodium carriers. There was a 10 year study about 2 years ago that concluded that individuals with a higher sodium intake had a lower death rate, than people with low. Sodium regulates blood volume, acid-base balance, muscle and nerve function and ATP-hydrolyzing activity in skeletal muscle. When you hold off on the sodium your body compensates by holding sodium and releasing more potassium, and this decreases the fluid in your muscle (become smaller). When you increase your sodium intake your body will compensate by holding more potassium in (increasing intra-muscular fluid) and increasing the excretion of sodium (become bigger). Also, elevated sodium and potassium levels will tend to prevent soft tissue injuries so common in heavy training. Forget the myth of avoiding table salt. Dont be afraid to use salt liberally. Low or no sodium intake will limit muscle growth by a fluid standpoint, and also through hormon supression. Now back to those androgenic AS's. As you know androgenic AS's have great ability to retain sodium. As you know the medical community cant seem to agree on just how and why steroids work and this appears to be an area that has been seriously overlooked. But we do know is that sodium and potassium are regulated by aldosterone, and aldosterone is produced in the adrenal cortex. Steroids have a direct influence on the adrenal cortex which also produces cortisol and other glucocorticoids. See a connection????? In conclusion start using salt at every food meal, and increase steadily over 1 month period. Especially for all of you on cycles, get lots of salt and lots of good ol' distilled water. At about 27 cents for a 1 month supply its not a bad investment.

Hope this has helped some of you! email me if you want the full article
