I have never been able to do alot of reps.. I don't know why? I always train with heavy weight and low reps and when i try to do alot of reps my chest just burns out quick. I can do about 16-18 w/ 225lbs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I did 225lb. 42 reps last Summer at a weight of 287lb. right after a Sust/Dbol cycle. 51 reps is very impressive, I thought I was going to pass out at about 41 but managed to squeeze out another, I couldn't imagine doing 10 more. Funny part about the whole thing, I can only do about 5 more reps when repping out at 185lb. It really has nothing to do with strenght I don't think, more endurance..... ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I think I could hit 50 when I was in my best condition, but not right now. 32 was good, but it was my 13th set, and right after 405x4 like I said. I have seen a guy do over 50 reps with it before. At a charity lift off, A guy did his bodyweight (275) for 36 reps. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Some football programs go with close-grip (shoulder width) for the 225 rep-out. I think this might be a more accurate way, since even short armed guys have to push the bar some distance. When I've seen guys rep-out wide grip, the short armed barrel chested dudes smoke everyone since each rep is so short (espec when they aren't being so strict about the lockout). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I did 225 for 37 today at the end of bench workout....strange thing is I suck at benching probably max out at 320 or so right now....now the first 20 were non stop partials....maybe a 8 inch range and then rested 2-3 seconds and the rest were full range BTW Ronnie Coleman did 72 reps at the Arnold Classic 2 years ago... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||
