I know a lot about calories and macronutrients but I keep hearing different opinions with the amount of calories to take compared to your body weight and your fat percentage. I`m sitting at 260lbs but my fat percentage is around 18 percent. Right now I still want to bulk some more before trying to slim down without going overboard on adding fat. So when I am trying to find out how many calories to take on a cycle do I only use my lean body mass to figure out my calculations becaue they say fat doesn`t need any calories to support it or should I calculate on my full weight and then add calories on top of that to build on. Thanks for your opinion! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I may be totally wrong, (please someone tell me if I am), but I figure you need 800 calories a day above your maintainence level to put on 1kg of muscle a week. I also think that each kilo of muscle requires an extra 50 calories a day for maintainence, and a kilo of fat adds an extra 20 calories a day. Fat is not metabolically active, but does require energy expenditure to carry it around. I may be wrong here, so someone tell me if I am off track. Hope this helps. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I would calculate it based on your lean body mass. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
