If I take Saw Palmetto to help suppress the conversion to DHT, will I also be suppressing my gains? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

From most of the evidence, Saw Palmetto is not working through 5-AR inhibition, like Finasteride does. The research seems to be pointing to inhibition of androgen binding (DHT AND testosterone) or an alteration of the translocation of the drug/receptor complex or signal transduction process. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think saw palmetto inhibits the converson to dyhydrotesterone that will shrink the hair focciles causing the hair to thin or fall out. I've read several studies that show it to be effective in blocking some not all of the conversion. ------------------ God didn't create all men equal, steroids make ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

No. Saw palmetto will help to decrease the conversion of testosterone to DHT. It will not affect your gains in any way. ------------------ It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. Don't squat with your spurs on. Good judgement comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have seen studies that claim that Saw Pawlmetto is both a type-I and type-II inhibitor of the 5-alpha reductase isozymes. Like Cockdezl mentioned, I have also seen studies where it is purported to have anti-androgen capabilities. I don't think it will effect your gains much if any. However, I am suspect on it's ability to stem hairloss also. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Can u guys tell me where you found these studies on SP? I wouldn't count on it protecting your hair much if at all. If you weren't roiding and you took it for hairloss it MIGHT help a LITTLE but it's not great at all, and won't do shit when on a cycle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have read several possitive studies on saw palmetto. A good place to read about hairloss and supplements to take in order to help replace or prevent it is at regrowth.com http://www.regrowth.com/treatments.cfm They discuss, saw palmetto, nizoral, rogaine, spironolactone, and many other things. There is a huge list, and you can also scroll down at the end of each subject for research articles. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
