I broke my hand about a week and a half ago and i have two pins in my hand, so i cannot lift upper body. Do you think it would be stupid to work out my good arm or should i let it shrink with the other one. Mike

I would train lower body, and do some cardio to stay in shap. I would not train one arm... I broke my Left wrist 14years ago, and I didnt' work out my right arm at all, but my right arm is still bigger than left. So I would lay off of upperbody until you can start to train with both arms.

You can still do certain upper body excercises. Get some straps that you can wrap around the elbows that fit onto the pulley machines ie. lat pull down & row and do peck deck pushing with the elbows fpr chest. Traps can be done on a standing calf machine (no hands). Shoulders and arms will be the main problem. When I broke mine I trained with a plaster on my arm. Take it easy though.

I remember seeing pics of Dorian Yates after his numerous surgeries on his tris and bis. He was using hammer strength machines with one arm. I would train in this manner and also try to train the legs. It has been proven that you will cause a type of ripple effect that can be transferred bi-laterally when training one side of the body only. This does not mean you won't become somewhat out of balance though.
