I just got my blood test results back and my test levels where at the low end of normal (287). That coupled with my complaints of low energy and decreased libido (it sounded good at the time) have convinced my doc to prescribe test replacement to see if it helps my "problems". Unfortunately he wants me to use either T-gel, the T-patch or oral Methyltestosterone. I don't think any of these would be much good for bodybuilding purposes. I'm wondering if I should go to another doctor to see if I could get him to prescribe either an injectable, like Test Ethanate or at least a better oral, like Oxandrolone. Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm waiting for an appointment with an endocrinologist for the same thing. My test count was 74 ng/ml about what a woman would have! I can't believe the Dr. was goingto prescribe methyltest. I thought that stuff had the worst side effects of anything ![]() ![]() ![]()

Stay away from methyltestosterone as far as possible. This is a horrible drug. If the testosteorne gel is made by a compounding pharmacy, it is very cost effective and quite useful. I have seen a few reports of several people having very good results by using the gel. At least their testosterone levels were restored to the high normal levels. Furthermore these patients have stated that they do not experience the 'roller-coaster' effects of testosterone shots when they use the gels instead. If you are convinced that shots are more appropiate for you, then perhaps you can request your doctor to prescribe you this. I have heard of many hypogonadism patients who convinced their doctors to prescribe them 600 mg of testosterone enanthate every week or every ten days. I do not believe there is any chance that your doctor will prescribe you oxandrolone due to the hight cost of the brand that is available in the U.S. (Oxadrin). If by any chance he is convinced to do this, the prescribed amount will be nearly insignificant. There are other ways of restoring your testosterone levels besides the use of testosterone variant drugs. Dr. Eugene Shippen who wrote one of the most popular books on male hormonal therapy, usually prescribes HCG and deprenyl to his patients. Perhaps you might want to consider this option as well. Good luck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My test levels were in the low 90's last time I had them checked. My doc gave me the choice between the shots, patch or gel. He said that there is not really a noticable difference between them. He won't prescribe higher than 100mg per week but he wrote a script for enough to do over 200mg a week and he writes the same script everytime I go in for blood work. I am considering using the gel since I don't think it will cause as many sides as the cypionate. I don't really use the cyp how he prescribes it anyways and it is just as cheap on the black market so I really don't see any advantage to getting it from him. I think that the gel might allow for some hpta recovery since it does not cause a significant spike in test levels but I am not sure about that. I tried to get the oxandrin from him but he wouldn't budge. My insurance even said they would cover oxandrin but the doc said that it would not be appropriate for test replacement. Good luck and if you do use the gel then make sure to post its effects on your hpta. giantset ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for the info sv and giantset. Maybe I'll just stick with my doc and try the t-gel for a while to see how it works. It will be nice to at least see how high-normal T levels affect my BB progress before deciding whether I want to enhance them further on my own. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I had good results with the Androgel. Really perked me up until I could get back on my feet. I regained 18 pounds I had lost in only 3 months using that stuff. However it is expensive if you don't have insurance... retails for $150/month at Wal-Mart pharmacy. It is difficult to find a compounding pharmacy that can make an equivilent from scratch, at least in the U.S. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
