I know acetaminophen is hard on the liver, and i think ibruprofen is too. How about aspirin? I've got a damn cavity the size of texas in one of my wisdom teeth, only slept 2 hours because of it last night. im on a cycle right now, and im trying to take it easy on the liver... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Aspirin, Ibufrofen, Naproxen are fine to take. So is Tylenol for that matter. Tylenol is not particularly hepatotoxic, it's toxic effect after a single oral dose in adults occures at ~10-15 grams... or 20-30 500mg capsules or tablets. For the FDA to allow OTC drugs to be OTC, the need to fit several criteria and a good safety profile is one of them. If you follow the recommended doses (and warnings on the label) and excercise common sense in terms of your dosage regimen, it is EXTREMELY unlikely to have toxicity with OTC drugs. ANY medicine you take orally that goes through first pass metabolism is to some degree "hepatotoxic". Anything you ingest undergoes processing by the liver. It is an amazing organ to say the least. 17aa gear stresses liver function by inhibiting degradation/metabolism therefore, increasing the half-life of the compound. Remember the does not have a finite # of cells. It is in a constent process of generating new ones. When drugs are introduced into the system at recommended FDA dosages, your liver can metabolize them without too much stress. However, if someone drinks alcohol, tylenol, winny, D-bol and A-50's then your organ would look worse than my moth-eaten sweater passed down from my grandfathers former college roomate. Elevated liver markers such as the P450 enzymes are tell-tale sign of hepatotoxicity. Herbal liver support formulas help a small degree. I think picrorhiza kurroa root extract(active ingredient is usually 4%standardized kutkin) is HIGHLY UNDERATED and IS MORE effective than milk thistle extract(standardized silymarin).
