I know that in order to get your proper sleep you should get 8 hours a night. But what if you get 4hrs here, and then another 4 later? Does this effect your gains? Some people have told me that you need the 8hrs all in one sitting because of the different stages of sleep. So what I have been told is when you only get the hrs here and there you never get all of the stages of sleep you really need because once you wake up and are active, the next time you go back to sleep your body has to start those stages all over again from the beggining. Is this correct?

This question is pertaining to on a cycle or off a cycle.

It's just an opinion, but I think that largely it depends on sleeping habits, you develope. If you do either way for long time, like for years, your body will learn to get enough rest and adjust, but if you switch those patterns all the time, then you are in trouble.

Same with me. Insomnia runs in my family. I just woke up after only getting 3 hours of sleep, and I had a killer chest workout yesterday, so now I feel like shit. Im not on a cycle though, does this have a major effect on growth?

Good topic.
I believe that your body gets used to what your sleep pattern is.
I sleep 3 hours at night and wake up.
Every night, always. I go back to sleep anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour later. I take an hour or two nap in the day.
It's a pain in the ass, but I'm getting used to it.
