It sure as hell better not, i can't quit, i love the stuff and have no desire to quit. only one dip per night right before bed. Skoal Mint is the shit. layed ps, it makes you a little more tired overall than you would be w/o it but I don't see how it would hinder gains. ------------------ | ||

WHAT A BAD ATTEMPT AT A JOKE MB2001 WELL THEIR ARE MANY WAYS TO LOOK AT THIS ON ONE IT WILL HURT YOUR BODY CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT TOBACCO CAUSES CANCER AND ON THE OTHER IT SHOULD ALSO BE CALLED THE WONDERDRUG BELOW IS SOME INFO THAT WAS WRITTEN BY A GOOD FREIND NAMED "Q" Nicotine as an Anti-estrogen/Anti-aromatase Nicotine works in two ways to lower estrogen levels. First it is an anti-aromatase like arimadex. Nicotine has been shown to inhibit the conversion of androstenedione and testosterone into estrogen in a study by the University of Utah School of medicine. Also unlike novadex or clomid nicotine is a true anti estrogen and not just an estrogen blocker. By this I mean that nicotine actually speeds up the degradation of blood estrogen levels. So nicotine causes a reduction in estrogen production and also decreases existing estrogen levels. Regulation of hormone levels When Nicotine is used on a daily basis it stabilizes the Adrenal hormones by acting on the Hypothalamus, which affects the pituitaries release of regulating hormones and increases GH release. This keeps various hormone levels stable during times of depression, or stress. That is why a smoker can have a cigarette in the morning to wake up and one at night to help relax. When you stop using nicotine your whole endocrine system gets f_cked up. Your cortisone, and adrenaline levels take a nose dive until your natural hormone regulation takes control again. Fortunately nicotine does not seem to have a negative effect on GH release upon cessation. Getting your natural hormone levels back in order takes about two weeks. As body builders we can use this to our advantage. When you stop a cycle you can start using nicotine. This will quickly reduce the high cortisone levels to a normal level. After coming off nicotine you can start a new cycle and take advantage of the low cortisone levels for the first two weeks Nicotine as a smart drug In one study nicotine was able to reduce the side effects of the prostaglandin PGF2a. In isolated canine retinal arteries partially contracted with PGF2� nicotine was added and resulted in the relaxation of those arteries without affecting the other effects of PGF2a. So in theory nicotine can be added to a PGF2a cycle to decrease intestinal discomfort. Nicotine also seems to cause a release of prostaglandins, which favors the good prostaglandins like PGF2a. Fat loss properties: One study stated that Nicotine was possibly the most effective anti obesity drug available at the time that the study was performed (late 70�s). Nicotine has various properties that help in weight reduction while sparing muscle. ahhhhhhhhh why did i have to open this post. I have diped a can a day of copenhagen for the last 8 years and i am currently trying to quit it has been 7 days since i have not had a dip. I am eating like i have never ate before. I think to a degree it will hinder gains only if you are a frequent user over a period of time.. a dip here and there cant be bad for gains, my opinion.. ------------------ | ||

Wow, you read my mind, I was just about to post almost the same question. I in the past I used to chew quit a bit. I would quit and when hunting season came around I would start up again. But I've quite for about a good 6 months. But with in the past 3 weeks I started again. I have a very important test I have to pass on the 12th and I study almost every night, and put in a snuff and I kind of feel like it helps me, instead of me reading & reviewing my book and getting tired and losing intrest in the subject, I wind up sitting for hours actually forming some of the best study habits I ever had. Which kind of worries me, because I don't want to be dependent on it to help me study. Maybe its just a superstishious thing I have right now though. I like Cope for a change once in a great while, I hate skoal, my fav is wintergreen Kodiak,,, Another question I have, does anyone else have to shit all of the sudden after they put in a dip,,, or is this just me? | ||

yea my teeth are on there way out slowly but surely . the way i look at it is it's better than smoking ( cigs ) . well here i go for a dip now ! hope it don't hinder gains , like smoking ! | ||

Kodiak Wintergreen for me......I quit for about two years then started again a few months ago b/c of a stressful job (yes...it's an excuse). Is that post for real about nicotine normalizing cortizone levels and acting as an antiestrogen? If so, I may never quit again. Seriously though...if anyone wants to quit chewing, Zyban (wellbutran) worked great for me...for a couple years anyway. I just quit my job though...so I'm planning on taking some zyban...and in a week or so...I'll have no withdrawl symptoms (anxiety, moodswings) | ||

I was at a can per day of cherry Skoal several years back, and my appetite was shit. I couldn't imagine trying to force down 5-6000 calories while on a cycle if I was still dipping. | ||

I chewed from the time I was 14 to the time I was 23 when I finally quit (I was up to a can a day for about three years or more). That was two years ago and I just started about two months ago -- FUCK!! I started bouncing again and most of the bouncers chew when they work the door so I started again (just when I work the door at first). I need to stop but not sure when that will be, hopefully soon though. BTW for me it was, and is, Kodiak wintergreen. DreamingBig | ||
