Very curious, I have a guy in my GYM only about 19 years old, he is a diabetic and he takes insulin via injection, I am good friends with him, he fears creatine, even protein powder because of his diabetes, and besides he just chooses not to supplement. He is huge. Just curious does anyone think or know if the insulin plays any role in this. Flame away..by all means!!!! Peace, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Natural Mike, your friend is a genetic God, consider himself lucky...but, as the years go by, things will change. Diabetic's by no means have any advantage, if anything they are hampered by the lack of Insulin they produce, and some of the medication we take...i.e. Actos, Avandia, cause severe water gain, hence perscription for Lasix..... Creatine levels, as well as potassium are constantly looked at, and most diabetics will not use creatine, and those who do cycle, like myself, must keep a constant watch on the estrogenic sides such as water retention, all this puts a vast amount of stress on our already overworked kidneys....and having worked with, and helped those who must survive by dialysis.....gotta take care of the kidneys Bro..... May I also add the obvious reason why they do not have an advantage. They are supplementing with insuling because there body cannot product the amounts required and needed. They do not use slin in the same way as bb's use it. They use it just to replace what they should naturally have. If they were to supplement with greater amounts perhaps it would be possible but then there are the points that Ranger brought up. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

As an RN, I know that most diabetics are very keen to their diet and counting calories. If they have any advantage, it is that they are more educated than the majority of us on how to eat right. They are more apt to stick to a regimented diet than we do. Why? For us, it's for looks, for them it's their life. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If a diabetic uses to much Insulin, Insulin shock will occur very quickly....having been in Slin shock a time or two myself, it is a fucked up feeling.....feels like you did way to much Clen in a way....I usually get to shaking like a dog shitting peach seeds....some simple carbs will counteract this very quickly though.... Ketosis is something that is dangerous as well for Diabetics, in this state to long, and ketoacidosus(sp.?) can happen....alot of things must click for a diabetic to cycle....but, first he/she must have a good endocrinologist and be upfront with them....in the medical field, they know more about AS than anyone.....of course the dosages we use really freaks them out....hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! i would say no. i've been diabetic for 15 years and get gains is TOUGH, even on gear. mainting a less than perfect blood sugar level causes damage to systems throughout the body, and i'm positive that muscle growth is affected. i had crappy control for about 5 years between the ages of 18 and 23 and i'm sure this has hindered my ability to get gains since i started lifting seriously a year or two ago. i am finishing up a my first cycle (500 mgs sust, 8 weeks) and my gains are not anywhere near i expected them to be. (around 8 lbs with 1-2% BF reduction.) oh yeah, i'm 27 now, 5'10" at 190. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

abs4days, Your exactly right...I never think about my diet, I just do it....drinking is way out of the question....cake and ice cream are a no...no!!! Little things most take for granted are very deadly to a diabetic..... But, one thing I really like, is when people find out your a diabetic, and they look at you....they fucking freak out....Most have the idea that all Diabetics are skinny sickly folks....heh heh heh Ranger ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Have a good friend who has been diabetic since about 5 years old (now 32y.o.). Has good genetics in regards to nmuscle structure and definition. Can't bulk up for shit. AS is not an option for him. He says it would kill him. Couldn't imagine having to go through life like he has with injections( multiple every day). Since he's pretty active at work & play, his levels rise and fall. So bad he drifts off and doesn't even know it. Looking into some type of insulin pump to keep levels good all day. KNOWLEDGE IS KING ![]() ![]() ![]() |
